Sadly, everything they're doing is perfectly legal in the state of Florida. D: People stay employed there because of all their promises of "opportunity".... but I need to make money now, rather than in a hypothetical future. Last week they had some top owner come in and tell everyone how he makes over $400K a year, and talking down about households with an average income of $50k for 2 people. Talking about "who has the bigger pile of stuff" and I'm thinking "that's all well and good for you, but I don't care about having a big pile of stuff. I just want to keep my bills up to date, and have enough money left over for a few luxury items."

I just...don't get it. My brain isn't hardwired for Corporate America. I don't see the point in bigger, better, faster, more. I'm content with my old LG Ally (one of the first and worst Androids on the market, so it doesn't nearly hold up to the models of today) and though I wish it didn't have a cracked screen, I like that phone. I'm happy with my $50 New Balance sneakers. I don't need to pay $400 for something that I'm going to step on all day. What's the point of paying $50,000 for a fancy car? I don't get it. :T

Anywho, off for my interview~! If I get offered the job, I'll be going right to my current job and tell them to put it in their pipe and smoke it. Screw their two week notice.

Actually you do get it. You just have different priorities. The person with the $50K car might look at us and think we're crazy for paying what we do for dolls.

Anywho, off for my interview~! If I get offered the job, I'll be going right to my current job and tell them to put it in their pipe and smoke it. Screw their two week notice.

Give notice but maybe wait to bail out till right after payday. If you don't give the full two weeks notice as required they might be able to with hold pay for time you've already worked.

But I got the job, barring anything coming back on my criminal background check. And since I know there's nothing there, I think it's safe to say I have the job. (knock on wood) The manager actually bemoaned the fact that she couldn't offer me higher than the standard wage, because she said based on my resume, I'm actually worth more than the $11.oo/hr starting wage. It was a nice thing to hear. The only downside is it's strictly part-time, 6 hours a day, 3-5 days a week. But it's only a few miles up the street from me, so I'll STILL be netting more than I was making with AFA Management Group (oh the scorn in my voice as I think that name) Actually, I'll probably be grossing more than I made with them too, since my shifts were basically the same for them, but I had those extra unpaid meetings, and the commute was triple what I'll have to do for this new job. Now, I won't have to travel, and I spoke to some of the other employees before leaving, and they all said they love their manager, and how fair she is. It was SUCH a relief to hear.

I just discovered that I can get my K-pop fix on Pandora Radio instead of wandering around the internet looking for import CDs that are probably expensive and discover new bands. But mostly I'm glad I get my SHINee fix. XD

I should try plugging in Alice 9 next...I've been regretting now picking up their CD when I was at con.

I really don't know if they can do that legally or not, but from the sound of this outfit they would take every advantage over their "employees" they could get away with. It is worth checking into so no matter the out come you're not surprised.

Congrats on the new job. Sounds tons better already.
