Looks like my Disney LE Frozen 2 dolls are delayed. They were supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but it's showing they are still in KY with a Monday delivery date. Bummer.

ETA: It's showing they are in Anchorage now, so maybe Saturday, but Monday for sure!

I had a pattern that was supposed to arrive yesterday, and it says it was delivered, but it wasn't in the mailbox. I'm waiting to see if one of the neighbors has it before I contact the seller.

I've been waiting for an older Hearts for Hearts doll to be re-released and they finally had her on Amazon for a good price. So I have added the 14" sized Shola from Afghanistan to my doll family. Yes, I'm going to call her Charmin.

Now that I'm on furlough and will likely be out of a job when it's over, I think I may have bought my last expensive doll. I finally decided to get the Disney LE Live Action Mulan because I think she looks more like Ming Na than the actress who played her in the movie. I'm going to make her a SHIELD outfit. At least, that's the plan.

Welp, I flubbed. I bought a white head for Mika, completely forgetting she's not white, she's "natural". The skin tone is off juuuuuuuust enough to bother me. I still like it tho, so I might order another body for it.... And I still need a new head for Mika, for reasons...

Mika's just a little heavy with the face powder right now.

I have a white head on a normal body, he has black hair so he's into vampires, goth, and being a spooky magician.

Recent... purchases... *shudders*. The horror. I doubt I'll ever be able to forget this May. I spent more money in one month than I've had at any time in the last two decades. There's a long list of things I've gotten (and two refunds, one cancellation, and a lot of stress), but the ones that might be marginally interesting to anyone else include:

All the parts for a new PC I'll be assembling (my second build ever - most computers are cheaper if you do the work yourself). This includes a Ryzen 7 2600x 8-core CPU (still waiting on it to arrive), RTX 2060 GPU, and 16gb of dual-channel gaming ram. (I also grabbed Witcher III when I caught it on sale, since I'll actually have a system that can run things like that.) It was purchased more with the idea of being able to run Unreal Editor and maybe make some games, as well as trying to make sure I continue to have internet access for at least the next decade before this setup should get too old to load websites. (My 6-year-old ASUS K55N laptop is not doing so great these days, tho my first PC build is still doing well.) All the parts ran pretty close to $1000, sans monitor (I have a couple possibly-repairable spares, or my laptop will just have to lose its second screen.) I'm still waiting for the CPU, case fans, keyboard, and mouse to arrive in the mail.

Dollwise, I got a secondhand Kid Kore doll that I have OOAKing plans for, the recent-ish Ken Fashionista with the long blond hair, Yule Ball Harry Potter, and four old Jem dolls in "just dodged the landfill" condition that I'll have fun trying to fix. And finally got a doll hair order for needles and some hair colors I couldn't salvage from other sources.

Are we both replacing our PC because we want go riding from town to town with Geralt?

Ok yeah this whole work from home thing had me cutting down on expenses. I already replace my monitor and am looking at PC specs (Ryzen 5 3600, gtx 1660, 16gb ram). IT shop build + budget. I'll see what I can do about getting the games later. I need to replace my PC after so long for work reasons. Well zombie netbook won't let me do photo editing much less long web browsing.

Netflix introduced me to Geralt and co. Its the books that made me research the game to see what specs meet game requirement. And I'm partial to medival theme so no red dead redempation until later.

The doll I want has to be put on hold since I'm wary of postal services during the Covid period.

Camera is gonna wait a while too.

More because I got sent a $1200 check I had to spend in a hurry and I want to run Unreal 5 when it comes out next year, as well as try photogrammetry and other 3d graphic art (which is why my biggest expense was the RTX gpu because they can do raytracing right out of the box - got it on sale at BestBuy for about $300 tho, so I think I did good there)... but the Logical Increments website I used to help pick and hunt down parts kept mentioning Witcher 3) I guess they use it as a benchmark to test gaming builds). Epic had it on sale for $15 (it's back to $50 now) about the time I got all my pieces picked and paid for, so I grabbed it. I'd heard of the game series first (and haven't seen the show adaption), but never played any of them, so it should be interesting. I'll probably track down the books before the other games, but I know better than to pass up a sale like that on something I was likely to get eventually anyway. I tend to like anything that has good worldbuilding and interesting characters, but my mind can be weird sometimes about which stories it decides to latch onto and which never grab my interest.

My old clunker laptop can still manage to surf (I'm on it right now), but the case is a bit messed up because I got the screws mixed up last time I had it apart and half of them are in the wrong places. Worse, tho, I think the thermal paste on the CPU is degrading (the fan still seems to be working fine, but I've had it shut down a few times on warm days when I was trying to record video, so it's just not keeping up and staying cool any more.) I usually squeeze a decade out of a computer before it's completely parts, but at 6 years it's definitely reaching the 'websurf only and start running Linux instead of Windows' (which it came with) stage. And my only other build is basically a home media server. I can get online with it great if I need to, but it was designed to maximize storage, not speed. No separate GPU, no camera, no way to record sound.

I'm worried about the shipping during all of this too.. still waiting on my CPU and case fans, and have one package that according to tracking has gone in a complete circle twice for no reason. But shopping from home/mail order is the only option I've had for years due to lack of transportation and other factors. So I just have to hope.

My Fujifilm Finepix AX is still holding up for non-gaming pics, but I ran out of funds before getting a camera for the new computer - or a monitor, but my laptop can loan its second one. (Plus I have two sitting around that could be repairable.)
