I'm putting my sewing projects on hold for a few weeks. Instead, I think I'm going to work on the bestiary for my fantasy world for a little while. Cold weather is inbound, and cold means my hands don't like to do delicate work.

Don't use chiffon. Look up "Stretch mesh" and don't use athletic mesh if it comes up. You want "power mesh" or something like it. I use it all the time, and aside from needing to work with a 4 way stretch material, it is very, very forgiving. And it drapes beautifully at doll scale.

I dunno bout you guys, but I have not been able to do a single creative thing since Monday. I'm just doing my best to remember to eat and shower right now. Hopefully, I'll have more spoons next week...

I know how you feel, I spent the better part of October writing and now that draft is over I'm longing for that feeling again. See if having scheduled self care time can become a habit, might take less spoons that way.

I keep what I call creative "busy work" projects around to give my hands something to do. Little sewing projects like something for a doll or quilt patches to make in to bigger units, yarn or string projects, coloring books, paper dolls, gifts to make, even writing things to recopy or type. Even if it's something you've been meaning to read or watch.

Amigurumi what I'm working on or made parts for at the moment:

* Yumeji Gekkohara, a moon-themed OC. She's the last "missing trio member" I need to make before I move on to other things; as I type this, I'm crocheting her hair.

* The head of Keziah, another OC who's going to be part of those "other things". (Her home concept can be summed up as "Megaman if it was all gynoids") Basically, I used the wrong skin tone for Yumeji on attempt no. 1 and Keziah was the best OC to repurpose it for.

* Collars for the Sailor Starlights in their non-canon Eternal forms; these are modeled after Sailor Kakyuu/Kinmoku in that their uniforms go from black to their "planet colours", among other details. (I also hope to make Sailor Kakyuu to go with them, for completion's sake and also because we didn't get ANY merch of her in that form--not even an acrylic stand) Star Fighter's up first after I finish either Keziah or one of her sisters, Teresa.

In other news, my right-hand closet has been rearranged. My figures are hanging out on their new shelf while my Sailor Guardians sit on top of it, finally able to be displayed together; the area that used to hold said figures, the top of my dresser and a wire shelf, are now home to my beta Pokemon, Eternal Sailor Moon, and Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon. The latter two will be joined by Tuxedo Mask and Helios at [unspecified day in future] and have the Starlights for neighbors.

I really wanna distract myself by working on something, but I'm seriously struggling. November's been a rough month. I'm really hoping the Holiday cheer will spark some inspiration.

Ahh, I feel like the calendar turning to December is what I needed. I've gotten some sewing done for the Barbie Dream Besties. Will post pics when the outfits are done.

Can't wait to see :)

I need to get motivated to sort the minis so I can put them in the dollhouse. I made a resin thing back in October and it's still in the mold.

Does baking several hundred cookies count as a project?

I have a friend in Second Life who does that every Christmas - I am pretty sure she considers it a project, but one she loves!
