(Today all the stores were closed due to a bank holiday, while typing this I realize it's a Christian holiday so it was probably a holiday worldwide..?)

Totally did not realize yesterday was a holiday. Nothing closes for it in the US. Apparently it's a holy day of obligation but it gets transferred to the nearest sunday, in this case May 20, 2012 in most dioceses of the United States. I learn something new everyday.

I teach at a Catholic school, we had Mass yesterday for everyone (except the PreK and Kindergarten). I never would have even known it was a religious holiday otherwise.

Seriously? We - well, the Christians in Holland, I'm not religious - celebrate that Jesus went to Heaven on this day.

I am totally disappointed. The owner of the cat we were supposed to be picking up, has decided that she doesn't want to give her away after all. Right after we fell in love completely, thought of a name and went cat stuff shopping today -_-. Ouch.

I was at the mall and not only did I find the shrug I wanted so I can wear it on Sunday, but I won an Om Nom plushie out of a claw machine. Plus I spent way less winning him (and also I got a funny looking mouse creature that I gave to my mom to give to the children's librarian) than I would've spent buying him. Now I need to find him a plush peppermint candy. I love the game Cut the Rope, I play it all the time on my phone coming home on the bus. Unfortunately I've run out of levels, though...
