just spent HOURS. I'm serious, HOURS like holy crap I forgot to each lunch, restringing Talulah.

That was a serious pain in my @$$ and I'm not sure I could own another one of these. But she's restrung and sueded, so now she doesn't stare up and have this back arched anymore.

Mission accomplished. (don't ask me how I did it because dear god you experts would take her apart and be like "Why did you use so much elastic?")

Too much elastic is better than too little because it's easier to tighten strings.

I don't even know how Hujoo did it because when the old elastic in her legs came out it was so short.

I think they use machines to do this, I mean...god that elastic was short.

Did you use hemostats when you restrung her? I did my first restringing without them, and immediately went and ordered a set of four online when I was done. My first took me forever, and was basically a long and painful ordeal that I would never want to repeat.

WIth the hemostats (and a pair of pliers, button hook and small crochet hook...), I can do one of my 1/4 Bobobies in maybe ten, fifteen minutes, and it's easier to get them night and tight that way. When your girl was originally done they probably cut off all the excess to leave it so short.

I have a crochet hook, pliers, and small screw driver, and that's it. And I can restring my BBB girls in 10 mins now tops? :P
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

I'm impressed! I had so much trouble holding it tight enough and tying the knots at the same time without extra help. Might be easier with longer elastic in the arms...I was using the restringing kits from JS and the length of the arm elastic made getting that knot tied really difficult.

The best restringing advice I've ever heard was to use ribbons. Just tie the end of a thing ribbon to the end of your elastic loop and you can thread that through any of the parts, allowing you to pull the elastic through with ease. I've been sticking with that and pliers.

Stop bragging. Stoooop iiiit. lol

Yeah I don't own hemos so the process was all kinds of hard. I had used a chopstick and pliers and ribbon to help me thread it through. But I still don't know if I ever want another doll like this again. I'm thinking forever Obitsu. :P

Of all of my strung dolls only Xavier needed fixing so don't let that keep you from other strung dolls. I keep strings in place before the S hook is attached by putting a stick through the loop.

Ah! Hujoo! Yes, my Dana is very tight. I had trouble with mine even though I have hemostats and experience restringing other dolls. It didn't help that instead of an S-hook they used a split metal key ring. And I don't have any extra S-hooks of the right size right now. :/
