The Dollieh Owner Sanctuary

The place for those OT discussions that you just HAVE to share in a doll themed forum.

I think it's because it doesn't feel like such a clique like other forums do. It's homey. C: That and everyone is pretty relaxed and very helpful and there when you need them. We all help out each other emotionally or with simple dollieh needs.

Well, for one, you can like Volks and not get beat up here. And you can prefer other dolls to Volks and not get beat up here. No endless "you're an elitist" threads that drive me NUTS!!!!! Nobody tells you "buy the doll you REALLY like because you couldn't possibly like that Obitsu ResinSoul Goodreau Monster High Whatever Doll". It's just generally more accepting and non-judgmental and everyone is here for one reason- to have a good time.

edit: maybe people here have more confidence and are more secure in their identities so they don't feel they have to defend their doll choices constantly?

I think it's also partly because it's a smaller circle of active posters here, so we all kind of know each other a bit personally.

Whereas in other forums, there are are so many people and the posting is all over the place, so it's very impersonal and aren't always as polite and considerate if they feel they are amongst strangers?

I haven't really spent a lot of time on other doll forums, but I do like this place. :)

So true, everything everyone said--homelike, welcoming, non-judgmental, supportive, friendly, etc. The only thing is you're all such ENABLERS!! I mean, everyone's stuff is so great, and I think, "Oh, I've just got to have one of those," and everyone says, "Of course you do. Go for it." And of course, I do....
Not my fault. You just make me do it.

I'm really new here, and to the doll community in general, but I already like it more here. I always read about the drama that goes on in the community--so and so doll is banned on x forums, whatever. I like that ALL dolls are accepted here.

Or maybe the people here are just nicer.
I think it helps a lot that all dolls are welcome. You can't really get on your critical, exclusive, one-upmanship high horse in a friendly place where everyone is welcome. If you do, you just show that you're a jerk.
I love it that "no dollieh is left behind."
