Today, when I was walking home from the El station I got to the corner before my house and found the the whole half block left between me and home cordoned off with yellow crime-scene tape. I wasn't sure how to get around it to home because I don't feel safe going to the back door alone because it's in an alley(and bad things do go down there)and besides it was starting to get dark. I was really scared.

For about a year now I've had a mysterious stomach problem that makes me sick when I eat. I just feel really nauseous, usually immediately after I eat. I've kept food diaries, changed my diet (more than once), and lost weight from eating less.
I went to the doctor a few days ago, and she put me on a new medication, drew more blood (for a gluten intolerance test, this time), and gave me a breath test for ulcers. All negative.
Now, my mother, my father, my grandmother, and my doctor are consistently telling me I should get an endoscopy, so that my stomach can be checked for inflammation and biopsied. DO NOT WANT. I'm not afraid of the endoscopy (but my grandmother knows that I'm totally lying. /sarcasm), I don't want anything done to me where I have to be sedated. If it were because of a religion, they'd let me alone, but because it's something I believe in because that's just what I think is best for me, well, that's not a legitimate reason, obviously.

I am almost done writing this contract book (Ghost writing job) and I've been soo lazy the last few days. luckily I have three weeks left to finish the manuscript and I'm ahead of schedule by a week.

I know, right? I can't really come back at them, either, because it's medical. If I wanted a tattoo or something, their resistance probably wouldn't bug me so much, but since it's medical and I'm a minor (lol, for a second I was a "minnow" ) it's a big problem.
Could I legally refuse a test if I wanted? Not that I'm really worried about my family drugging me and doing a good old fashioned, alien-probe style abduction, but it's in the back of my mind.

I've had an endoscopy and it's nothing to worry about. You keep your clothes on, lay on your side, and they put a camera on a tube down your throat. Turns out I was okay and it was probably a nasty case of stress. I was in a similar situation to what you describe with family driving me nuts.

Do you drink a lot of whole milk or eat a lot of wheat or peanuts? Or your meals could be too big and you just need to eat smaller meals throughout the day. Pick one food at a time you suspect is the culprit and take a week off from it.

@ Dollykim: I don't care if a unicorn diagnoses me (wouldn't that be cool, though?), I just don't want the anesthetic. Over the course of a year I've been tested for about 15 different food allergies, changed my diet several times, eaten smaller meals, eaten bigger meals, and at times stopped eating altogether because I didn't want to be sick. My mom thought maybe I was hypoglycemic, so I tried eating snacks every hour or so, and nothing changed. The trouble is that it doesn't seem to be food specific. I could eat a Big Mac and fries, or a vegan tofu casserole with salad and have exactly the same result.
It's more of a problem during the school year because I can only eat whatever I have time to make in the morning, and whatever is served at lunch.

you'd be sedated, which is different from anesthesia. either way, if you need a procedure done, you need a procedure done.

anyway, have you had your gallbladder checked? it seems to be the answer for everyone around me lately with stomach issues. they just ultrasound your gallbladder and maybe do a function test.

So I've fallen off the face of the internet and am not entirely sure when I'll properly return. Life has been...interesting. Not bad persay but interesting in a no-time-for-other-things-including-dolls sort of way. Which does suck. But I'm not dead and thought I'd drop a line to say that.

Life does that from time to time...>_>, in that case, all you can do is work your way through until things get less 'interesting'.
