As it is, we took a $9000 hit - but are still coming up about $4000 up from what we paid. Not great... But it pays for the move pretty much. :/

victoriavictrix wrote:I swear if someone walked up and offered me what this house is worth we would be out of the country in a flash. Probably one of the spots in South America where there are sweet deals for US retirees, and all the infrastructure is in place like fast net. If I am going to live in hot conditions, I'd like it to be someplace that is not in a drought--and one where my parrots could live in outdoor cages year round.

That is the problem we're having. We really want out of this house, but the loss we would take is so much that we can't afford to do it. Though I believe we COULD rent out our house, but I don't know a lot of details about it. We're talking with my parents about their house and the whole initial idea is that when they retire and move out west, they us buy/rent their house. So... hopefully that'll work out.

It's ironic that in the South American countries it isn't as hot in the summer as we are getting now...it's been 110 most of the day and now 11 PM and 95 degrees...yikes.

10 page research paper for my English 106 class done! Also, 98% on my Linux final exam, I'm feeling pretty good right now. And very glad to be done with this semester!

I managed to pencil and ink a full sized (14x17 inch) comic page in 4 hours!! I ustreamed the whole thing, and it looks so pretty. That's really fast for comics, seriously! I did the pencils in, well, pencils and then I scanned the whole thing and inked it digitally. It's really detailed too. I'm not handling the colors, my girlfriend is, so now I just need to do the other pages she's thumbnailed!

I finally took up and completed a 4 lesson bicycling course. I always wanted to learn to cycle as a kid but never had the chance to. My trip to Kyoto kinda motivated me since two places I wanted to go to are at opposite ends of the town.

Gotta say the learning experience was exhilarating although by the end of each lesson I couldn't feel my arms and fingers anymore. i still get a little nervous if the pathway is too crowded from either debris or people.

And somehow I kept drawing similairites with the motorcycle video game Road Rash on account of said obstacles and darn pigeons

I can cycle now, as long as I have enough space to move :D

Congrats!! That must feel so liberating!! I can't imagine life without being able to ride a bike.. but then again here in the Netherlands riding a bike is our second nature, nobody does NOT do it.

thanks. a part of me was going, 'turn here, keep going towards that, turn there, etc'. The other part of me was going 'WHHHHHHEEEEEEEE!!!!'

I'm probably going to rent a bike and get used to cycling more, might end up taking a doll along for a trip (small doll in backpack of course)
