I know the feeling :( :( *hugs*

About my faceplate: I think the seller had no idea at all. I don't want my money back - or at least asking for it doesn't feel right - but I still want to talk to her about other solutions. Perhaps she can tell me where the faceplate came from (she got it in a trade).

I understand that she wouldn't have seen that it's a recast and/or modded; if it's the only Sist faceplate you own, how can you tell? But I immediately noticed the differences when I saw the two blank sculpts next to each other.

Dirili, if I remember correctly I paid about $100 or more. A lot of money for something I can't use -_-

Everything happens for a reason, all things must fart, it just doesn't matter. Not caring how much I spent on doll stuff was something I stopped caring about a long time ago. Once it was decided that was "doll money" then as long as it was spent on doll something I didn't care.

I let go of my caring what I spent on stuff and was able to get rid of a lot of the hoard. Do I hang on to something because someone else told me it's "valuable", I don't watch any storage, picking, or pawn shows for that very reason, or can I get rid of it because I haven't used it since I bought it?

Linteia-san,

God bless you and your family right now! We'll be praying for you. :hugs: It's an awful awful feeling to lose a loved one, but as you said, she's in a better place. Even though you feel terrible and sorrowful, missing her, at least you know she's so much happier and healthier now, and you'll see her again someday. :hugs again deeply:

My condolences. I will hold you and your family in my thoughts.

This is a little suck for sure and I think some will not understand at all, but it's my birthday on Sunday and I'm not happy about it at all. I've breezed thru most of the 'big numbers' in the past, so the fact I'm thrown by this number is a bit astonishing to me. I feel depressed. I feel old. I don't want a party or to party or to celebrate. I don't want to be cheered up. I want to stay in bed all day and eat chocolate.

I'm 60. :(

Sweetie, I'm not that terribly far behind you. It's funny how some birthdays can get to us, but it's just a day. Instead of lying around in bed, go do something you haven't done before! THEN eat chocolate!

I totally agree with Kirafaye! My cousin just turned 60 - she's using it as a reason to go travel wherever she wants - she bought a camper of some sort, she and her husband have already gone to Alaska. I think it's a great attitude.

Though I do know numbers can get to you sometimes. Though I'll be honest - my own age hasn't freaked me out yet. It's been the realization that the people around me are getting older that always gets to me. Silly, I know.

I still have a few more years to hang out on your lawn. Why not look at the things you've learned and accomplished? What good things have happened since your last milestone?

I think my depression about my age has a bit to do with my current health and finances besides the number. If we could buy a camper and travel, we would and I know that would make me very happy. But a trip to the ER a couple months ago, poor insurance (a $20,000 deductible and no I'm not f'ing kidding!) and a big tax hit have taken their toll on us this year. If I felt better, physically, I think it would be easier to cope. I'm allowing myself a weekend to sulk and sob and mope about it before I insist I buck up and take it like a woman.

I have finished my lovely bottle of Riesling and think I need some champagne to wash down this truffle.
