Hah yeah - thanks guys - It was more general crossness that this situation still goes on than personal rage (if that makes any sense at all...) but yeah I've calmed myself down by rediscovering Jarvis Cocker's brilliantly sleazy work... (including a Heavy Nite With Relaxed Muscle!)

Crazy thing I think I want to save up for now, volumes 16-21 of the Swan ballet manga. Hooray for the US translation going bankrupt at 15. I can totally guess how it ends but I'd still like to have it to look at.

DollyKim, totally stuck in the same boat as you. One of my favourite manga/anime series got dumped by Iron Cat (yes we're going old school) after releasing all but the last five volumes. Now I need to save up to have them translated. What a waste. That's a personal pet peeve of mine when companies commit to stuff they don't finish. What a pain. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any plans for a translator? I've been looking for one that isn't going to rob me of my life savings to translate, or are you just testing the waters? :)

10 Need-To-Know Fun Facts About The Wind Rises

I have a feeling it's going to be The Grave of the Fireflies all over again. I bawled like a baby watching it.

I once heard someone describe The Grave of Fireflies as "the best movie that you will never want to watch again". That really sums it up well. I can't even think about that movie without wanting to cry.

An idea for those who do altered art book journaling collage things- Personal pop culture. Examine the things, movies, TV, books, music, celebrities, memes, trends, friends, that other people have done that affect you.

Yeah, someone is up to their elbows in ephemera and home made books right now. And being a year away from a major birthday I'm looking at a project I half thought of ten years ago, a quilt square for each interest I think I have a few somewhere, but doing it as collages seems more doable and where I am now. Not looking forward to the printing bill but I want the feel of a physical book. Maybe I'll call it Fook, I'm Forty.

(WARNING: BLOOD AND GORE (actually just watercolor paint))

I made a music video featuring my Hujoos, I want to share but I'm not comfortable creating a new thread for it in the dolly chatta because it's not strictly about dolls. Hope it's okay to post it here.
