Well, starting a load of laundry turned out to be more stressful than I would have ever expected......

moving the laundry basket caused an avalanche in my room and cleaning up the first avalanche cause 3 consecutive avalanches... good lord, I need to clean up the piles of junk in my room and get my stuff organized. -__-'
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

sigh suckage of family feud nature... can't go into too much detail since this is a public place and eh someone involved could come across it

Basically in a bid to inherit all of my grans worldly goods unpleasant things have been done by an aunt of mine to the whole extended family/clan (most of them just don't know it yet - the full depths to which she's sunk may still emerge though). Bloody hell the extent of vicious/malicious behaviour that people will go to for the sake of a few thousand pounds worth of inheritance money and swindling other people out of it... sigh all whilst my gran is still with us being used as an unwitting pawn.

If I was closer to the family I'd do something, but since I'm basically an outsider looking in anything I say will probably be viewed with hostility and suspicion (we've always been the "poor relations" despite that resolutely not being the case - I think that state of affairs has to some degree been race-related), especially since I suspect she's been sowing seeds of distrust against my immediate family from the rather odd treatment we received at the last family gathering...

It's all bubbled up again recently but again very unwilling to go into details on a public forum, just need to vent

Vetinari, I couldn't agree more. It's amazing how people become when faced with the possibility of gaining some money. I've dealt with it twice recently.

My husband's father and one of his two uncles haven't talked to the eldest of the three since the death of their mother when despite her known wishes, he kept not only any money, but ever piece of family memorabilia left behind. The two other sons have nothing left of their mom or dad because of it. It is so painful a rift that when Jeff and I got married both of them told Jeff they would not come to the wedding if the eldest brother's family were invited. It hurt Jeff because he's always been close to his cousins despite the problems and he couldn't ask them to attend or his own father wouldn't come ....

Then, after the death of my ex-husband, his family - who had disowned him 25 years earlier for religious reasons - suddenly wanted to be involved in his estate. There's too much to bother going into detail over, but suffice it to say they hired an attorney who tried to take my daughter's inheritance for herself and the other family. Fortunately, we have a fantastic probate judge who saw through it all. Now my daughter wants absolutely nothing to do with her paternal grandmother (who was ill and probably a pawn during it all, but the damage is done).

All so sad.

my aunt pulled shit after my grandmother died. I was supposed to get all her jewelry, she'd been saying it for years. I wasn't there for the funeral, being at uni, but my aunt apparently pawed thru all the jewelry before grandma was in the ground. I don't care how much what she took was worth, I'm more angry that she TOOK it.

either way, starting to get depressed about jobs. I'm overeducated for anything basic, the last person I interviewed with was really anxious I'd get hired at a better job right away, but I don't have enough job experience to get hired at a better job.

Me- I need to buy a shelf for my Monsters. (I have room for a compact book shelf)
Smother-Do you want (insert any useless piece of furniture in the house)? It'll hold a few.
Me- I want a dark version of my old cheap book shelf.
Smother- Do you want to paint that one. (Shelves are bowed/cracked and already full of junk that would have to move and we don't have paint)
Me- No.
Smother- How about your table? (a black triangular table which holds 5" Star Trek people but I don't have room for it in my room) It'll hold a few.
Me- I want something that looks like the CD shelf but bigger. (wishes that bowed and broken not even used particle board thing would go away)

I end the conversation as a shelf to hold all my Monsters doesn't get across.

I guess it's sort of sad that my mother was poor but on a positive note there was nothing for the family to squabble over when she died.

Speaking of money issues - I have to have a root canal performed. The grand total of all the procedures needing to be done before, during and after is going to cost over 1 grand. I'm not sure which is worse, the procedure or the cost.

I've had a headcold for about a week now, and it finally went away, but now my stomach is beyond queezy. I was really hoping to go shopping for cloth but I'm too worried I'll end up throwing up on the way and at the store to get what I need.

Flu epidemic sweeping a lot of Florida right now, and knocking out some of my best employees. Really hoping I don't catch it; I've never had the flu before in my life -knock on wood- Working the third weekend of open to close shifts in a row, and it's looking like that's how it's going to stay until New Years. Plus side: nice paycheck, which means funding my road trip to the Northeast sooner. Downside: My everything hurts. And my weekends are officially shot.

Didn't do as well on my test as I had hoped. Didn't even manage to get an 80 out of it this time. Blegh. ><
