yeah we got over a foot crapped on us yesterday. blek.

And we appear to have missed winter altogether - it's been a long, grey, wet slog through from October to a couple of weeks ago; there's been the occasionally light frost but nothing like winter. These last couple of weeks have been mostly dry and mostly sunny. And warm.

Okonomiyaki - looks delicious really want some right now... Sadly the only ingredients we have in that match the basic requirements are Kewpie Mayo, cabbage, eggs and flour... And to be honest if it turns out to be an awful awful dish what would we do with the rest of the rather difficult to get hold of and bound to be expensive ingredients? Hrmm... Still drool it looks amazing - think I'm gonna google London sources that just cook this and plan a future day out - it'll probably work out cheaper...

Other random thing... In a misguided attempt at thriftiness numerous No-Longer-White t-shirts were dyed... A disproportionate percentage of my wardrobe is now ...bright purple. I don't even like purple that much... oops (Still 2 No-Longer-White Bowie t-shirts have been taken back from the brink, one is a really nice shade of blue now and the other is purple, but now looks "distressed" rather than completely worn out)

all you really need for okonomiyaki is mayo, cabbage, eggs and flour. its supposed to be a simple and cheap dish and there's nothing in it that should be expensive or hard to get. maybe some wostershire added into the mayo, its very tasty that way. it basically means as you like it from what I understand, and every place does it a different way.

ooh, I love okonomiyaki. The first time I had it was in Okinawa. I've only attempted making it once, I tried to sub bacon for the ham, that was a bit gross. You can probably find the sauce and bonito flakes in an Asian grocery store.

I got it into my head that my new AA AmModel doll that is arriving next week should have Red's outfit from Once Upon A Time. Peasant blouse, gathered red skirt, black tapestry corset/bodice and red/black patterned cloak. Easy, yeah? No. Trying to find similar materials is proving difficult, never mind looking for scaled down patterns. I might regret this idea.

Hah! Thanks for the suggestions - next time we have a shop at the local "oriental supermarket" I'll have a look around for the more japanese ingredients - though I suspect I am going to go to this shop in London that sells them specifically, they have little fish-shaped waffles!!
