I just wanted to send out one more round of thanks to everyone! Things are slowly starting to look up and hopefully will keep going that way.

The talk I had with him yesterday went surprisingly well and he actually seemed a lot more like his old self. I was glad to see it, because the sudden change did actually have me a little worried about his health (suddenly personality shifts are NOT good) and he did have an unexplained seizure once.

I don't have a lot of time, but I did have to chime in on the religious thing since it is a pet peeve of mine. I also can't understand when people do that. I suppose they think they are 'helping' you in some way, but they aren't, they really aren't.

*hugs*

I'm taking a yoga class online and this week's lesson was on chakras, which I love and work with all the time. I was so excited to go onto the discussion forum and talk about something I'm passionate about...and then I get there and the entire forum is just flaming the lesson for its religious aspects and being non-Christian. I couldn't believe the things my classmates were saying, like it never occurred to any of them that some of their classmates might not be Christian or have other experiences. It wasn't even directed at me but it was so frustrating and hurtful.

I'm so sorry. I want to be very careful here not to start a flame war, I respect everyone's religion, but I personally have had to deal with this attitude, it is VERY hurtful for me because my son-in-law and all of his family is Muslim. They are wonderful people and my family now and I love them, and I hate it when I hear (or see on facebook) people Muslim bashing, which happens a lot. Or being told that if you don't adhere to a certain type of Christianity, you're going to hell and your own beliefs are completely disrespected (I am a liberal Christian). So- I do feel for you and I'm sorry that happened, and all I can say is to talk to the person who runs or teaches the class and let them know. I take tai chi and one time someone went off right before the class when we were all warming up on a political topic. I happened to agree with her, but a tai chi class (or yoga class) is not the forum for political discussions, especially ones emphatically expressed, it is disrespectful to other people in the class and really messes with the whole "peaceful" aura you are trying to achieve. When we got home our tai chi teacher had shot out an email to everyone, without naming names or pointing fingers, and requested that all political or otherwise potentially upsetting comments be left at home, since this is supposed to be a 'safe" space for everyone.

Okay, now HERE IS MY BITCH!!!!
My little cat, Chloe, is a total brat and if the catbox doesn't meet her very high standards, she will poop on the floor instead.
TWO DAYS AGO I completely emptied it out, soaked it in bleach for several hours, and then refilled it with brand-new litter.
So this morning I go to open the bathroom door (where the catbox is), and it won't open. So I push, and then see the smeared cat poop under the door. She had pooped on the little rug in front of the catbox (to keep the litter from going all over the floor). Then when I opened the door, it smearing it into the rug, PLUS into the bottom of the door. I had to take the rug out, then scrape the poop off from the underside of the door. Damn cat.
And all this before I had my coffee, too.

My Cat From Hell would suggest trying a litter box for each cat. They each get their own place to put their smell so they each have that bit of territory to call their own and control.

Thanksgiving gathering at older bro's house is canceled on account of MRSA.

The person who has it is getting proper medical treatment, but yeah... we're not going over there.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

agreed :D
And my experience with rescue and working in a big box store also suggests not using bleach. As it is harsh on their lungs and it doesn't remove cat smells, just masks it :3
The stopped calling me the rat lady at work and now call me the Litterbox girl lol

My house isn't big enough, lol.
Actually, I DO have three cat boxes in the house. One in the laundry room where Mr. Boris sleeps with the two dogs at night (he's funny, he loves the dogs, the other cats hate them), one in the main bathroom, which Mr. Rocks and Chloe use, and then one in my bedroom for the random cat who gets locked in there by mistake. The other two kitties are outdoor kitties.

In retrospect, I probably should have used something like oxy-clean that would have gotten deeper into the plastic. I let it soak for several hours, didn't just wipe it down. Probably what I should do is just toss it out and get a new one. My daughter is a vet tech at a cat hospital- they just use disposable litter boxes and toss them out.

MRSA stands for methicillin-resistantStaphylococcus aureus. MRSA is a “staph” germ that does not get better with the first-line antibiotics that usually cure staph infections.

The symptoms of MRSA depend on where you're infected. Most often, it causes mild infections on the skin, like sores or boils. But it can also cause more serious skin infections or infect surgical wounds, the bloodstream, the lungs, or the urinary tract.

Because it's hard to treat, MRSA is sometimes called a "super bug."

MRSA is spread by contact. So, you could get MRSA by touching another person who has it on the skin. Or you could get it by touching objects that have the bacteria on them.
