*just a tiny bit upset that people post stuff that triggers me all the time, but I get hollered at about the mere idea that I might share a doll I love and am really happy to have. Fighting feelings of shame for liking something that brings me joy*

I tried linking one of my adopted click pets here, but the board wouldn't let me. :/

I love to see pictures of your spider, Tam, even if it's sent privately.

I think when I post her, I'll put her on my thread, with a spoiler thingie. She's just a tiny thing with big black eyes. Going to need a few days though. The past couple weeks have wiped me out. heh

Deep breaths all the way around, some things like creepy crawlies, heights, scary movies, human anatomy, and what I'll call major real life breaking news events are things that many average people might have an aversion to. Like with flashing lights it's something that warning them about is being polite and thoughtful. Sort of like a spoiler with a piece of media or a blur filter on a photo until you click on it.

It's when it get's silly, I have seen people with mile long trigger lists that make me wonder why they're even on the internet, that enough becomes enough. I can only tolerate so many flashing lights and don't like shaky camera shots and appreciate having a choice if and when I look at adult activities.

How about a thread in the other toys section for bugs? That way people can choose to look or not.

I am also an arachnophobe, but fake spiders I can handle as long as as I know they’re fake. I once had the bejebbies scared out of me when I got on an hotel elevator with a woman who had a huge black spider on her shoulder. Realized only after I shrieked and like slammed myself against the wall that it was a jeweled broach. Definitely got side eyed for that one. I’m just glad I didn’t get fired, because I was a housekeeper and she was a guest.

I had absolutely no intention of shaming you, nor did I mean to holler and I'm sorry if you thought I was doing so. I'm just mightily afraid of eight leggers and would rather not see them. If I have ever done or said anything to trigger you, I would hope you would let me know so I could correct the problem and make sure I don't do it again. Of course, everyone should like what they like and be proud of it. I would never intentionally try to make anyone feel badly about themselves and I hope you will forgive my ignorance in this matter.

Nothing to forgive. You were speaking up for yourself which is always the right thing to do.

Didn't sell any of my doll clothes at my craft fair, but my jewelry did well. So I splurged on this hand knit sweater set with matching quilted pants for my 18" dolls. Here is Minnie looking extra cute!
