I have been living under a rock my whole life. I've known "of" Doctor Who, mostly from you lovely people and from my friend Yami from NY... but I never actually watched an episode.

I am just now watching the very first episode of the very first season... and cracking up.

The original Dr. Who (1963) or the new Dr. Who (2005)?

Hey now, most of the old series was in color. Only the first 2 1/2 were BW. Though, if the monsters aren't obviously guys in suits then yes, it's the new series. As awesome as old Who is, budget was not one of its strong points.

Darn Amazon. I ordered 3 things all from Amazon proper. No outside vendors. Got to the end of the transaction and it was all listed as being shipped together, great. A couple of day later I find out, no, one thing is being shipped separately apparently a lot later and the thing is it's the one other I needed to do my project. I can't really use the molding putty without the resin you know? So now my whole project is on hold until they actually decide to ship whenever that is but as of tomorrow I'll have the molding putty to sit on a shelf. The thing that really bugs me is that it's a total waste of shipping fees and packaging. I don't care that it's free to me. It's just the idea that they shipped 2 pieces in one box then the other in a 2nd. I mean couldn't they have just waited another day or three and shipped them together instead? I mean obviously the two products were meant to be used together so why not just save the $5 and the extra cardboard? I even checked ship in as few packages as possible but I am beginning to think they pay no mind to that, ever. I really hope they used recycled boxes because if not Amazon could deforest 100 acres of trees a year with the way they pack and ship...

I would venture a guess that what happened is that they had all the items in stock... in different warehouses. So one box might be shipping from the midwest and another from the west coast. So it actually is quicker for them and you if they ship from the two different facilities, rather than ship one to the other and then repack on to you.

It is annoying though.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson says you can only compare any particular Sci Fi program to what was going on at the time the show was made and originally broadcast. You can only compare #1 to any other Sci Fi in the early 60s.

We were only talking about first episodes. Actually I recall random B&W episodes into Pertwee's time. Not that the random ones were done in B&W rather recovered in that format. I don't remember what years that would be and I can't get to IMDB to look it up. :/ It's blocked at work.
