It's misplaced priorities with those who do the spending. We spend more on prisoners than students, we obviously need high speed rail instead of fixing pot holes and freeways. Without getting too deep in to it my ball was dropped when no one even considered I could have learning challenges and some emotional problems.

On the good side I know my college math teacher fudged my grade because that last math class was all I needed for my degree and I didn't want to take it a third time. Some of my other college teachers really did their best to make learning good again. I aced a few classes I didn't think I would.

So I brought one of my dolls to Uncanny Dreams to see if anyone would buy her, and instead I ended up buying stuff FOR her. I'll give her another shot.

sometimes I really wish I had any sort of artistic ability. I would love to have some visual representation of characters (drawigns or what have you) just because they'd help me world build but even my stick figures are squiggly lol. Oh well, dolls it is.

I understand the artistic/lack therof problem. XD Luckily I have artistic friends and the one has drawn many versions of my charries for me. ^_^ Not so much recently as she's busy with her degree and her own art projects and charries but once in awhile I get some nice art of how she thinks my charries should look. :P Too bad I don't really RP anymore. =/

Back to school and my schedule is already getting booked practically til December. T_T This is what happens when you're on campus job is related to volunteer work. It will be interesting to see if I actually get to go home every weekend for real food and laundry or not. XD

It can come with practice. Art is one of those things you can train yourself to do. Get a kid's drawing pad and some HB pencils, a good balance between a sharp point for drawing and soft for shading, and burn through them. If you're old enough take a life drawing class at a community college, that helped me do people much much better.

If you feel you need an instruction book check out How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way, if they still publish it, it shows you can start with stick figures and/or squiggles then work them in to human form. Or go to a book store and look for a book that makes sense to you. The first stages of art hardly look like the final ones.

My mother in law is a costume design professor who also teaches introductory drawing classes(she's one of those amazing life altering professors). To paraphrase something she's told me several times, drawing has nothing to do with natural 'talent'. It's a learned skill just like anything else. Some people come by it more easily but anyone willing to learn and put in the work can do it. Don't give up! Grab a sketchbook and keep at it.

Thanks guys, I think I'll go pick up a sketchpad sometime next week and start sketching! I haven't taken any sort of art class in...oooh....maybe a decade? lol So what "skills" I may have had are definitely rusty (even if it's a different skill set entirely I'm still ridiculously pleased with the one faceup I've done).
