I'm going to give "in character" doll blogging another try. Last one was on Live Journal but I've found that I prefer Blogger. There isn't much to see at the moment but if it works out, I'll post the URL in my signature.

Yay - a rejoice (and considering I feel like my sinus infection is returning yet again, that's something!)!

The girl who did Lorilei's faceup and blushing emailed me yesterday and said she should be able to ship Lorilei out to me today (barring more rain in her area). So Lorilei could be home by Saturday! Woohoo! I hope her spa vacation did her good. I can tell y'all one thing, nothing causes dolly bonding faster than not knowing when (or if . . . ) you are going to see your doll again!!

And one more rejoice - I sold a few things this past week, so I paid off a layaway on a PlanetDoll mini Riz. Hopefully I'll have her sometime early next week, too!

My psychic shopper powers kicked in last night and I succumbed to an urge to go to a Goodwill that I normally don't frequent. There, in the aisle normally populated by odds, ends and small kitchen gadgets I found not one but TWO bags containing Breyer horses! Each bag had at least 2, and in one case THREE horses in it, in fairly good shape and at the stunningly underpriced value of $1.99 each bag.

I nearly fainted.

Those of you who are or were horse collectors know that even used Breyers run into some bucks in most cases, so this was a nice find. Damned if I know what I'll do with them - but WOOT I have'm hahahahaha

I'm sure the Pukis and the Brownies will enjoy them if nothing else :)

Not that it probably makes a difference to your dollies, but are you sure they are Breyers? I ask because there are many copy-cats out there, however, you can check online for the official Breyer site and collector sites to see pics of their horses if you are interested.

I started collecting breyer horses when I was 5 years old - trust me, I can spot a real one from a mile away :) When you know what to look for you can pretty much tell them apart from the knockoffs without a lot of problem - it's the quality of the sculpting and the plastic used. I just got lucky and they had someone clueless doing the bagging :)

O__o I remember we had a hobby store called Rebmans around here and they had an entire aisle dedicated to Bryer horses. I also remember being like nine years old and always looking through it thinking who the HELL would pay sixty bucks for a plastic Barbie horse??? You can't even comb their hair! lol

That was definitely a good find!

Over the weekend, I was shocked to see Breyers at Big Lots of all places. The one near me has 2 sets of the mini horses - a set of 2 for $15.00 and a set of 3 for $20.00. They'd probably do well for tinys.

I made the final payment on my B&G Aurora!!!! WOOOOOOT!!! So hopefully next week I will at last have her in hand. Mind you she'll be nekkid unless I can convince Sherris to share a dress, but somehow I don't think her future boyfriend, my DZ Yuu, will mind that much hahahahaha
