My husband's mother is Chinese first generation American. Her parents took English named (Fred and May) as soon at they got to the States. Her legal name is a typical english name but she also had a Chinese name her parents called her. My husband and his sister are about as American as you can get but they also have unoffical Chinese names their grandparents would call them sometimes. I thought it was sweet connection to their ancestry, kind of the same way my grandmother (first generation American) tells us to eat and gives all the babies nicknames in Italian. Apparently at least in my husband's family it has something to do with having a direct connection to their ancestrial home back in China, which he and his mother have only been to once but is still super important to them.

It's possible that the 'Jane' from my package note is Chinese and uses that name when dealing with English speaking International customers, or she could be a Westerner hired to work with the Western customers. Myself, I don't mine a foreign name. My DH is an immigrant and has a non-American name. I just thought it was funny and cute and I appreciate they went out of their way for me. The products are lovely and I will post pics when I get around to using them which won't be til after I finish the Valentines and St. Patricks dresses I'm working on at the moment.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Woo! Exams done! (Didn't go amazingly - but what with what happened over Christmas...)

Also - Aiko has a new wig - the colour/style work much better than her old one!

Finally finished Geist's faceup and body blushing! I have a couple of crappy cell phone pics I'm going to stick over in spam but hopefully tomorrow I'll get home while there's still some natural light and be able to take some pictures that actually capture how pretty he is now!

Can I rejoice about the fact that my wedding is done and over with? My friend is sharing wedding planning woes and I'm just over here like: Thank god that's done!

Weddings can be hard work! I wanted a simple church wedding and after the mothers got involved it turned into a big to-do. Gah. They have ways of going "spaghetti" on you. LOL

I got a box of manga in the mail today!! ^__^

It was the one bright spot in an otherwise stress-filled day.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@
