Yup, it's hard work, but it's sooo rewarding when you see your dollieh coming back to life..! :D

Prepping g4 pony for customizing was a pain. I snapped of the top round bit of the neck plug trying to twist it out with a plug, jabbed down around the neck plug with a knife (...it was a pain since my knife was not an xacto) and finally had to cut a slit down the middle to get it out (grumble grumble). And the neck hole for the head is way too small for my sad excuse of a tweezer to get in. So now I'm pulling the hair from outside, except that I still have to do something about the glue to rerooot.

So next time I attempt to make a g4 custom, I'm going to get a fashion styling one to try. Except that my family apparently thinks that it's a waste of a pony to customize. So now I wait for a thrift store to bring in a baity g4.
The ever growing wishlist: Hujoo Dana, Obitsu 40, and an army of other Obitsus with anime style heads.
The more expensive end of my wishtlist: Limhwa Half Elf and Elfdoll Soah, my dream dolls.

Two weeks ago last Friday (seems much longer) my computer crashed. I thought I had lost everything--all my pictures, all my folders of research, all my writing--everything. I was stunned. It felt like a death.
My son spent the weekend trying to see if he could access my pictures, ans he was finally able to get in my hard drive, and they're still there; now he just needs to find out which part of the computer blew.
I'm on his computer now, but I can't use it very much, because he uses it all the time. I don't know when mine will be fixed, but I haven't been able to go on the forum, and I feel so behind, and I miss you all very much. I realize how much I felt a part of this community, and I'm missing it a lot.
Hopefully, Mike will fix my computer soon. Anyway, hope so.
Love you all.

Aaand the Dremel has died. And can't be replaced for a couple of weeks until after my next paycheck. This is a problem.

This day and age an external or portable hard drive is very affordable, you can a case for an internal hard drive that turns it in to a portable as well. My sister had to do that when she fried her computer. The power supply was shot but the hard drive lived. I've kept an external drive as back up for years now, everything is on that and the files I use all the time stay on the computer. Some external drives have enough memory you could back up all computers in the house on it. If you have lots of pictures and home movies they cold be worth their weight in gold.

To tell you how fast things have changed my thumb drive is 4 times bigger than the external drive I had when my computer crashed.

My lil' brother recommended Dropbox: http://www.dropbox.com, which I am now running on both my pc and my laptop. The software synchronizes automatically, so that when you save a file in your Dropbox folder on your pc, it'll be on the Dropbox folder in your laptop immediately too :D

~Looks at pre order price for a doll and happily buys, looks at doll's arrival scheduled for Halloween and face drops, finds out for $20 more could just buy one now~

So I decided that I'm getting too close to assigning too much self worth on owning "in demand" dolls and waiting will be good for me and I should look to other things to make me feel good. Like dealing with who I have. Some days I wish I dealt with stress by eating ice cream instead of buying stuff. But it's still a sizable face palm that I could have BINed her.

The only thing is with my insurance it'll be a good month before they can get me with someone who can help guide me out of the stress of everything. I wish doll people lived closer to me, being around friends would help cheer me up.

Oh...I know so much how you feel, DollyKim, money stress (and distant dollieh friends) really does suck. :(
With the money I have, I could probably buy some nice big dollieh, but I can't spend it because I worry that I'll fall in love with something, and not be able to get it because I spent my money... @__@

I just found out my grandma has Alzheimer's, I'm not coping so well with it.
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.
