The burners all work, when we can get the oven to heat up we've usually had a burner running at the same time. Last time it was working we moved the thermometer around and got a 20 degree difference on the sides and played with how high the burner needs to be while it's baking. The burner needs to be on while it bakes. We've talked to Whirlpool, tried recalibrating, and now it doesn't want that. No warranty because we got it at used.

Our landlord is cool with us taking the repair bill off the rent and we'll have a qualified repair person take a look at it soon. In my spare time I was looking up what the usual culprits for inconsistent heating were as some times it works and some times it doesn't. Sometimes we hear a click before it works and some times it doesn't. So if it isn't somewhere in the heating elements then it might be haunted.

AHA! The click is the clue.

You have an oven with an electronic ignition (basically a spark generator) which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. What is supposed to happen is that you turn and hold down the lighter, and it is supposed to go "click click click click LIGHT" as the spark finally lights off the burner. (You ARE holding down the lighter, right? Because if you are not, you should try doing that if you have never had an electric ignition gas stove before.) Now if you ARE holding it down and it is only going "click" once and lighting, or not going "click" at all and not lighting, that means your igniter is clogged or defective or just plain busted. It's a fairly simple fix.

Now the reason it works when you have a burner on is because the burner for the oven is lighting off from the lit stove burner.

My stove does that. I light it with a creme brulee torch.

The small rejoices can be the best sometimes. I already have one awesome BJD friend living a ten minute bicycle ride away from me, and another awesome BJD friend is moving to my town soon <3. In a tiny country like mine with few BJD people that's pure awesomeness.

My 20-something child who usually lives with us is gone for training for his new job for the next 30+ days. They'll keep him longer if they need him. I can walk into the living room in my underwear. No Red Bull on the shopping list. No tripping over shoes discarded right in front of the front door. Life is good. :o)
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Now I can rejoice, after however long and what ever was wrong the car is finally in our driveway. Now I can pay fees and insurance instead of getting a Hujoo kitten.

Holy crap! Ever since I discovered anime I've always wanted to attend a convention. Turns out, there's one held RIGHT IN MY HOMETOWN every year called Zenkaikon. How did I not know this before!?! It's only been going on since 2006! O__o

SO going next year. Being held in April. And there's a theme. Fairytales! Even better, I was browsing the guest list and Doug Walker is going to be there. Doug Walker is the infamous Nostalgia Critic. For those who don't know, he reviews movies and television shows and he is HILARIOUS. Look him up on Youtube. He's done a couple hundred reviews and some of them are truly epic (The Last Airbender movie, for example. Best. Review. EVER.) I've wasted several hours at a time watching him, and there's a whole group of critics who review different things (they're called League of Super Critics, I believe. THey're all amazing. Especially their "crossover" reviews. Hilarity of epic proportions generally ensues!)

Oh, I am SO excited about this. Even better, I won't have to pay for a hotel room! So I can attend this AND still be able to save for the Dollism convention being held in New York next year!

That's great Stormlight! Next weekend is AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta). It will be the second time I've gone with my daughter. There are a couple of BJD panels and get-togethers which makes me more fun for me since I'm only marginally into anime.

My daughter and husband love Doug Walker!
