A question about Junkyspot forum

I have been reading the board for over a month-I have registered at least 8 times-it forgets who I am about twice a week-and I still can't post an introduction or reply. I have never received a validation email and when I click on the resend it says I have not been approved. I even used the invitation link after my JS purchase to register and it didn't help.
So, my question is how does one register for real and how long does it take to be approved?

Mlatch probably knows more about what's going on over there, second only to Emory. I think the validating is done by Emory himself now. There was a horrible run of spam posters about 18 months ago and the membership was about one third dead spammer accounts. It is possible that your URL falls within the range of one of several "banned" addresses so it keeps getting bumped. PM Mlatch or myself with the user name you are trying to register with and we'll see if we can get you in.

Afraid I'm not in the loop on this one. Apparently, Emory changed some security settings because of the crap ton of spam the forum gets but I don't know why it would be causing you so much trouble.

I just (Monday about noon central time) did a member search over at Junky Spot forum and there are over 250 "members" in the validating stage. Most date between September 22 and 27, 2010. There are a lot of "questionable" entries and some not so questionable(videosporno). So you can see, Emory has his hands full trying to weed through the potential members. It's no wonder you've been bounced. But now that we've got your name known to him, hopefully he'll give you a pass. Thanks for your patience.

I have an account on JS. But I realized that I used the wrong username. I have been trying since June or July to register on JS with the username Eseme.

I have never gotten a registration email back. I have tried once or twice a month since I joined this forum.

Is it because I already have an account there? I'd be happy to PM mod over there to explain the situation, but if Emory is the only mod, I don't think that would be effective - he sounds overwhelmed.

You can change your name on JS without re-registering. Go to the "Forum Shop" (top purple bar on the right side). You'll see how many points you've earned. Click on "Board Shop" (left hand column). If you have enough credits you can buy a "Change Username."

Which is, unfortunately, not going to help me. I lurked on the JS boards. I never posted - I only had the account about a month before I decided I had the wrong name, at the very beginning of the time I looked into Obitsus. While I still have the account, since I haven't posted, I can't buy anything.

And I can't seem to make a second account with the correct username. I have different names for different hobbies, and mistakenly signed up with a gaming username. I'd rather be Eseme.

What about building up points with the other name then buying the name you want in the board shop. I think that takes 100 points. You can put "I'd rather be Eseme" in your signature then we'll know it's you.

Thank you K2! for the help. I can post on JS now.

Eseme, I can send you one if you tell me what name you currently have over there.
