I am thinking about getting a hands free magnifier, other than glasses, at least a 2x if not a bit bigger.
Anyone had any good experiences or brands I should avoid? I don't want to cheap out but don't want to break the bank either.

I haven't had a good experience with the kind you hand around your neck and prop up with your chest. They fall out of position when I move. So far, my best one is attached by a gooseneck to my standing Ott light

I use a gooseneck too. I have one that stands alone that I use for face painting, and one that has a light around it that I use for jewelry work.

Found a Carson Magnilamp at the craft store for under $20. It's on a slightly flexible stand and comes with a little light.
2x with a higher spot is doing well enough.
