Inktober Anyone?

Will anyone else be attempting Inktober this year?

I did it 3 years ago and got through 15 drawings before giving up. My goal for this year is 20 inked drawings. I think if I plan ahead and pace myself, and take weekends off, I can finish off the month with a good chunk of line art! I'll be posting them daily on https://www.instagram.com/josiedungeoneer/

I'll be making some ink art but my directive avoidance especially doesn't do lists for art.

Anyone looking for good instruction and exercises should check out Alphonso Dunn. His book helped me turn a corner and I have an art degree.

I'm almost halfway through Inktober, and I'm pondering the value of the art challenge. I'm keeping up with my goals so far, but for what purpose? I will certainly have a lot of line art to color next month, and if I color most of it, I'll have some nice pieces, but I'm not sure I'm improving in my skill. I might be getting faster at it at least. Maybe I am getting better at getting things done...
