I'm being published!

Well, self-published. I decided to take the plunge and have submitted my first novel for publication on Amazon. Kindle will be released on Jan. 2nd and print versions will be shortly after that.

I'm kind of excited and all kinds of nervous. Not sure what I just got myself into, with the whole self-promotion and marketing thing I need to learn to do. But I just thought it's worth a try, at least. So wish me luck!

I just received the proof copy of the paperback today. Just holding it in my hands, seeing my name on the cover… just the most indescribable feeling!

I’ve made a Facebook page which I’m gonna have to figure out what sorts of things to post on it. People have also recommended using a TikTok account to promote, which I’m still hedging about as I’m definitely not the influencer type. I have no knowledge of how to create videos and such, but I might at least give it a shot if I can make a little space in my very cluttered room to make videos. I had a nice finished basement, but my sister is moving home for an indeterminate amount of time so that will be her space for the time being.

Look what came in the mail! The second proof copy with all of the last-minute changes and edits I made. It is finally ready to be released this Tuesday. The hardcover version will be released as well.

This publishing things has been an adventure so far. I've never been big on social media so I have to learn a lot. Facebook author page and a Threads account, still haven't made any tiktok posts, though. I'm trying to avoid that as long as possible.
