Doll buying sources?

I've noticed that my collection currently lacks... pizazz (sorry MH and Liv, I can only stand so many of the same face). I'd like to try and find something different. I want to stay away from Barbie, Moxie, Bratz and Liv (As I can find those easily in local stores), but keep it to 1/6 (or smaller) in size and try to keep it under $30 per doll. I've seen that Integrity has its own online shop that puts the Dynamite Girls at half price. Are there any other places? Non-American playline would be amazing as well.

Sorry for asking such a n00b question, but I don't have any doll-collecting friends IRL I can ask. :/

Have you considered Obitsu? Junkyspot sells 1/6 Obitsu bodies and heads (or even slightly smaller), which you can customize yourself, or commission people to paint up for you. I think an Obitsu would be around $30 for a head and body, perhaps a bit more or less depending on what you're looking for.

Volks also has 1/6 dolls, but I don't like their quality as much.

And Volks no longer makes them, so they're running out.

Also check out Pullipstyle.com. It is more than you'd asked for in budget, but keep an open mind and check it out. There's some lovely dolls and you might find one you really feel is worth saving up for.

I keep forgetting they sell smaller ones. Possibly because I look at the 1/4s when I go to Junkyspot. ^^; But I don't have the room or the money, that's why I'm restricting myself...

They have 1/6th elf heads! Squee!

I was gonna suggest the 1/6 Obitsus too :). You can customize them just the way you want, so you'll never have 2 of the same ;)

If you visit my site DolfieLittles.com and stroll through the pages of the Little Encyclopedia part I can pretty much tell you where everyone came from. Right now forget Volks, aside from their eventually getting around to a new line and monkeys flying out of my butt their floppiness is annoying to noobs. There's a matching Obitsu for most of their body types and you'll be a zillion times happier.

War-toys.com and MonkeyDepot.com for men. I've been able to score some of my guys for under $10. For heads this woman is incredible http://wantedactionfigure.com/shop.asp

Yep, I'll add my voice to the chorus of Obitsu fandom! And there's no better retailer to buy 'em from than Junky Spot, although I'll freely admit to a bit of fan-ish bias there.

For Europe, Mimi Woo beats Junkyspot... Their shipping rates to Europe are awful, unfortunately. $26 shipping for an itty bitty little 21cm Nano Haruka head worth like $7... no thanks.

Yea, US shipping to overseas has gotten really outrageous - ever since they forced us to basically use priority mail for EVERYTHING :(

Yeah, it's a shame :(. Fortunately I discovered Mimi Woo, her prices look slightly higher but that's because she ships everything for free. And pretty fast, too. I love it. ^^
