Welllll, yes and no. Unlike here at DS, where there are multiple people who can approve new people (although most of the work is done by one diligent member), there is only Emory over at Jspot :( Given as he not only runs the doll store, but also has a normal day job - he's a busy man! Don't take it personal if he hasn't gotten to yours yet :) Here is what he recommends if your approval is slow in coming:

For members awaiting validation:
to speed up the process, and to avoid getting lost in the "shuffle", please feel free to email me at info@junkyspot.com if you would like to get manually validated. i'll need to know 1) the username you picked, and 2) the email you registered with.

right now, we're getting anywhere from between 4 to 8 spambots registering per HOUR, so when i check the validation queue every few days, i've got pages and pages to go through...and i have accidentally deleted valid account requests when cleaning out the spambot requests.

I think he's just swamped. We (the mods there) keep telling him to let some of us help - but no joy :(

Hey, if that worked, perhaps you've tapped a new resource! The JS Facebook page is the new hot thing right now.

Don't feel bad, new members are always welcome at JS because they mean new customers. With all the spambots he gets over there I don't think he'd mind a real person contacting him on Facebook to get approved.

That actually might be a great way to ask for approval at it's easy to see if it's a real doll person or a spammer.

You might be right about that. I run a forum myself, a VERY small one, but I too get my share of spambots and sometimes it's really hard to tell if someone's a spammer or not. When in doubt, I send an e-mail myself before approving someone, asking them why they joined my forum. So far I never got a reply, which means I know what to do :P

Spambots on forums are horrible :(. But so are the spam comments on my blog. Ten a day or so.

I tried the FB thing in hopes that it will work for me.
