eBay/marketplace deals gone wrong

Edited the title of this topic because my personal issue will probably turn out just fine, but the topic has turned into a more general topic for eBay and Marketplace deals gone wrong.

~*~

Somewhere in the beginning of April of this year I bought a Little Pullip Seine from a particular seller on eBay, to turn her into my first Little Pullip hybrid. At some point it took so long for the buyer to have them in stock - she'd promised by the end of April but it became May, still nothing - that, luckily, I bought another Little Pullip somewhere else, so I could start on my project earlier.

When the auction info changed in May, saying that they had Seine in stock, there came no message from the seller, so I contacted her myself. She said she'd had a very rough time, stuff going on in her family and she'd had to send out big stuff like a car, which was why she'd been very busy, but she'd send my doll away soon. After about a week the info on my bought auction changed to 'shipped'. This was on May 9.

On May 20 I sent a message to the seller asking for a tracking number because I'd like to know what to expect, but I got no reply.

Last night (May 28) I contacted her again, asking if I could please have a tracking number because I was wondering if my package was being held my customs.

At this point I started reading her latest feedback. 9 negative in the last month, all talking about how they got no product, but they did get a refund they didn't ask for. On the other hand, her positive feedback was pretty consistent as well: 'it took three weeks, but thanks for the item'. That kind of stuff. I also read a lot about how she got rude to people. I started to doubt her a bit.

This morning I had several messages from her stating the same: she had concluded that the package *must* have gotten lost and she made a refund. Wait, wut?! So fast?! I don't want the refund..! I only asked for a tracking number, I didn't even state I was worried that the package might be lost, I only said I was worried it was being held by customs. I never asked for a refund.. I want my doll!! She wasn't being rude, sounded a bit sad actually, but still.

I sent some messages back, saying that I didn't want the refund and that I thought she was offering (and giving! damn it) a refund way too fast, that I could wait a bit more for the package to arrive... so I paid the amount back through PayPal, with extra cost (damn it again. lol).

Now my gut feeling says the package is out there somewhere, and I believe that even without a tracking number it'll get to me, I'll just have to be patient. Her negative eBay feedback is a bit worrying but her positive eBay feedback is reassuring me because it sounds so familiar. But WHY ON EARTH would someone make a refund so fast when nobody's asked for it?? It does make you doubt her motives doesn't it..?

I'm kinda suffering too. Two months back I had commisions made on custom eyes and a wig. Eyes perfect, I even saw a pic of them on her deviantart. Wig done too but it was too small. I can't afford to ship her Riven for a model and it's taking a long time...I just hope it gets done.

As it is with Ebay I use it a lot especially for some of my doll stuff. Clothes, props that sort of thing. It gets here a little at random but it always works out in the end. Hell I didn't find Riven's tracking number until the night before Valentines Day.

Yeah I use it a lot lately as well, and so far I haven't had any bad experiences. I don't have a problem with a package arriving a bit late... I do however have a problem with a seller who decides to refund too fast without communicating about it. That's just weird...

Same that just sounds really suspicious. I'd contact her again and ask her what was up and that you don't mind waiting for the package.

That's what I did. But since I do have a gut feeling the package is still on its way - I don't know, I just think it is - I paid her again...

We'll see what happens. You know, I trust her to give me a refund once the package REALLY doesn't show up now. Lol!

OH man. I feel like she is going through a hard time and can't really deal with it. To be honest it might be safer to take your money and get your pullip somewhere else?

I'm also having a major problem with an ebay seller but I'm not sure when I should start freaking out. I lost an auction for a 60cm Obitsu from Argentina but was offered it as a second chance offer. I paid immediately and a day later she sent me a tracking # for EMS 10-15 day shipping but said that it might not show up on the website and that it would take 20-30 days to reach me since she was having family medical issues and it would take time for her to drop it off or for the post office to process? I assume its going via land but 20-30 days from argentina seems like a lot.

I keep checking the EMS tracking infor on the Argentine post office site and the tracking number doesnt work. I check it with the USPS tracking and it doesn't work. Usually I think when I have an EMS tracking number I can plug it into the USPS tracking site and it converts it when it's reached the U.S.

I will write her after memorial day to see if she can help track it for me? It's been 24 days. I also checked her feedback and she has 4 feedback total. 1 as a buyer which is positive and three negatives for being a seller!!! Apparently the person who won the auction said that the tracking number didn't work and that when they contacted the seller, the seller was rude. SOmeone else said that instead of paypal she asked for money through western union. The seller responded saying that the buyer's pp wasn't working.

So now i'm really worried. On the auction detail it says I should expect the package btwn June 5 -11 but the auction ended May 5. DOes it really take THAT long to send a large package from Argentina to the U.S.?

Uh oh, Landwhale, sounds like you're in more trouble than I am :(. Did she have all that negative feedback before you bid on the Obitsu? What a horrible situation :(. I hope your doll will get to you safely but I fear for the worst to be honest :(.

That being said, my own issue got resolved rather unexpectedly... I got a very friendly message from the seller, saying that she'd gotten confused and that she thought the package had been on its way for a longer period of time, she says she's sure it'll arrive... So I'm all like *phew* right now.

Meh, landwhale, how much did you pay for your Obitsu? Your message is giving me chills, it doesn't sound good at all...

Actually, depending on how she sent it, yes.

Keep copies of all the E-Mail and messages just in case you have to file a claim. When you leave feed back be sure to say the shipping was very slow. If she bitches you have your records to back you up.

I'm in the should have taken the refund and looked elsewhere boat. Only once did I have a package that was truly lost, it was a cheap one and the seller sent another, when the original one finally arrived it looked as if the post office had stepped on it and used it as a door stop.
