Well, first off I actually did NOT gamble! Hard to believe, I know, but I have a doll to pay off and a doll convention to attend so resisting was not difficult. Besides, I was there on business (a work related conference).

So being a wierdo after doing the obligatory drive up and down the strip I promptly left and found myself a Goodwill :D Yes, i went thrift shopping. What can I say - I have my priorities.  I found a breyer horse that I'm going to try and repair (missing ears) and the fan sewer's goldmine: A vintage Simplicity SAILOR TOP pattern!!! Remember those pattern pieces VV posted to Jspot and the old 13doll? Well I actually found THAT pattern, complete with instructions! yes, I will be posting it for those interested in giving it a try!

Wednesday after the conference I went to Mandalay Bay and did the Shark Reef Aquarium. It's small, but pretty cool. I really loved the tunnels where you can see the sharks swimming over your head and stuff. I also realized I've been watching waaaaay too many Shark Week programs when I was able to identify a black tip reef shark without looking at the tour booklet :o They also have several types of rays and you can even touch some of them....slimy would about sum up that experience.

My favoritest though was the tank full of Lion Fish - I LUUUUUV Lion Fish!!! I took looooots of pictures of lion fish, but I don't know yet if they came out as I haven't downloaded them yet.

I took Sherris with, but to our disappointment finding a decent Elvis impersonator was damn near impossible >< There was one hanging out in front of the hotel (Paris) but he was so tanned it was like Elvis if he had a day job picking fruit or something :( And you'd think Elvis stuff would be EASY to find in vegas...HA! I even went to the old Las Vegas area and had trouble finding anything :( But more on that and the reason for my Elvis search when I post photos of Sherris' adventure.

For the curious, I had a car because I drove there. Vegas is only 5 hours from Phoenix and it was an easy, pleasant drive. Still, I was glad to be home and see my kitty and dog again :) Not to mention a real computer...laptops are hard to work on :(

OMG, there were conferences EVERYWHERE!!! The hotel I was at (Paris) had an Avon conference at it. I was attending something called ESCon - a conference for law school admissions personnel who utilize the online ACES2 service provided by the Law School Admissions Council. I was there to learn all about the paperless options of the software as we are converting to paperless right now :) Our conference was at Caesars Palace.

Ahhh very awesome! DevConnections was going on over at the Bellagio, which Evan thinks may have been across from where you were. He said there were a lot of conferences going on there as well.

Yes - the Bellagio was right across the street! I saw the fountains going off several times, but my room didn't have a prime view so I only saw it when I was in the car stuck in traffic LOL.
