So two questions in one day oh my and I probably asked this already so sorry if I did I'll delete this if I did already.
Do BJD's smell for long periods of time or is it just that "new car" smell and it'll fade? Reason I ask is OT but I have a sketchbook that currently smells and it worries me because it's pretty strong and yeah like that...and before anyone says it I know that "made in china" comment probably sounded raciest I promise you that wasn't my intention I'm just a bit paranoid about my sketch book smelling and like toxic smells and all that and -sigh- I just want to draw again

*shrug* could be anything from the papermaking process that is making the paper smell. You might want to just set it outside for a day or two and see if it airs out. Unless the smell is only the cover I'm not so sure about frebreeze - it may affect the texture or quality of the paper and/or how it reacts to the media you use in it. Frebreeze is, after all, a type of liquid.

If the smell doesn't go away you should probably return it if you can. But I think airing it out will probably get rid of what I suspect is just a residual production smell.
