I HATE FED EX

This is, believe it or not, a doll related venting.

I was SUPPOSED to get two dolls from Mintoncard Wednesday - but becuase they got sent to my home, not my office (MOCs mistake) they were not delivered. Seems FedEX won't leave packages at offices of complexes if they need signature. Yet when I got home there was no tag on my door making me very suspicious that he had not even attempted to bring the package.

So I call FedEX and when they tell me they won't re-route to my job unless the shipper calls them (bastards) they agree to ship on friday.

Here I am - it's the day before Xmas eve, I'm home all day and I'm doing NOTHING but waiting for the damn package. Oh, yea, I fell asleep for a bit, but I sleep very lightly and there is no way I slept through if someone knocked on my door. Yet when I go on at 1pm to check my shipping it says they tried to deliver at 10am and NO ONE WAS HOME!!! BULLSHIT!!! I was gone for exactly 20 minutes very early this morning (7:45 to 8am) when I took my dog to my folks for the day and when I got home there was NO note on the door saying delivery was attempted. Had there been I would have been on the phone to FedEx HOURS ago.

Doesn't matter - even now there is no note which makes me suspect that the fucking driver just didn't bother with us at all. So I get on the phone with FEDEX and basically tell the real human being I eventually get that I want that package TODAY as I have no intention of spending my Xmas eve sitting around my home doing nothing but waiting AGAIN.

I have been informed that the regional manager is getting a hold of the driver to get that package delivered.

He'd better or FEDEX is going to start getting bad publicity for more than just throwing boxes. ><

Don't ever get between a doll addict and her fix!

I certainly feel for you. Hopefully it gets to you in time. (And how on earth did you get a hold of a real, live person this time of year?????-Wow...)
I also feel for the poor drivers this time of year. I work in logistics, and have spoken to some that say that they are pulling 14+ hours a day because their terminals won't hire the extra help needed this time of year. So, when they do finally show up, remember not to bite the driver too hard.

Both FedEx and UPS suck. I've never had a problem with USPS even when my poor post lady walks with a limp and has graying hair. I've seen my UPS delivery guys. THey're all young mid 20s early 30s and don't give a hoot about anyone's belongings. I never see the FedEx ppl but I actually don't have a problem with them because I ask MoC not to have delivery Confirmation. Even if there is Deliverly confirmation, my FedEx person apparently knows it's a hassle, knows the neighborhood is majorly friendly and just leaves the package on the porch. I actually prefer that as it's a three hour round trip slog to get to the UPS holding warehouse and they send the item back even when you call and tell them not to.

I'm sorry that you were expecting awesome x-mas prezzies only to have this happen.

The biggest problem for me in trying not to bite the driver's head off is hte fact that I genuinely believe he never tried to deliver. I mean I am not a heavy sleeper - if he knocked it would have woke me up immediately. I mean my cat wakes me up crunching his food! I'm sure he/she is overloaded with work today, but I'm not going to sit another full day (especially xmas eve) because they have too much work. If they had just left the frigging package at the complex office two days ago there would have been no problem - and I KNOW they can do that, I've had it done before. I think he just said to himself "it's a residence, they'll just be at work again so I'll skip it and deliver saturday when they'll be home". Um, no, I don't think so.

This is exactly how the USPS works in my section of NYC ALL THE TIME.
The package delivery person refuses to leave anything even if it doesn't require a signature, and he often makes no attempt to deliver the packages. He has been reported many times to his supervisor, but she does nothing.
I finally physically caught him after he had skipped my apartment AGAIN by hobbling out to his truck. He told me it was good for me to stand in line for 45 minutes at the post office because it gave me exercise. This, by the way, was when I was walking with a cane after spraining my left ankle and fracturing my left knee in a fall.
After a lot of wrangling, he agreed to deliver packages to my neighbor on condition that I leave a signed letter with her every time, so I made up a bunch of them, signed them, and so far that has worked.

So crappy :(. I really really really hope your dolls will arrive today (it's after midnight here but I guess in your timezone there's still a chance lol ;)).

And EAB... That is just plain aweful. :(

We have a mailbox at a post office that's apparently SO HARD TO FIND by UPS and Fed EX, on occasion. I think it depends on the driver. They throughly pissed me off when they delivered a fairly expensive package to Costco because he couldn't be bothered to enter the address in his computer right.

I feel for the drivers, I do, but there are many of us who work in environments that push you to your limit and managment wont do what needs to be done to fix that over-worked problem because they'd rather have the money than the quality of a job well done. Actually, scratch that, they want BOTH without giving the person the right compensation for it. But basically my point is, after rambling off it, is you are handling packages that go to other people, sometimes that shits important. TRY TO GIVE A F*^&.

Delivery folks got nothing on people who work in Theme Parks like Disney and Universal Studios during the Summer. Delivery people have a week or two of crunch time before Christmas. Theme park workers have not only the 2 weeks before Christmas, but the entire months of September and October for Halloween specials, Thanksgiving break, the whole months of May, June, July and August for summer vacation people, the last two weeks of March, and first three weeks of April, for Spring break, often most of February for Mardi Gras events, and the week[end] surrounding every other major and minor holiday in existence. The only downtime these people get are the months of January and November, and not even the whole month, because the first week of January is still part of Winter Break, and the last week of November is the kickoff to the Christmas season. The whole YEAR is fast-paced for them. You ever have somebody bitch you out because you won't let their kid climb on a collapsible shelf, or take out their issues with theme-park pricing on bottle water, when there is a water fountain within SIGHT of where you're standing? I got no sympathy for delivery people.
