I want to express my sincere hope that all of our members who are in the Denver area are safe and untouched in any way by the tragic shooting last night at a showing of the new Batman movie. I used to live in the Aurora area and have many friends who still do, so I know I"m hitting facebook pages today to see if they are ok.

My prayers are truly with everyone there today.

I just read this article. I can't understand how anyone could ever do anything like this. It's deeply saddening and disturbing. I too, also wish everyone is well.

Luckily neither I nor anyone I know personally are anywhere near there. Another terrible tragedy :(

I just found out about this - how horrible! My heart goes out to all the people who were in that theatre. All of them are victims, whether they were physically hurt or not. I hope everyone here is safe too.

I was so glad about midday my cousin made a FB post that he was okay. He recently moved out to Denver and I wasn't sure where his place is in relation to that theater. Luckily he lives pretty much on the other side of the city.

This is horrible. It's sick how someone can think doing things like this is a good idea. I hope the person responsible pays dearly.

I am very glad that Warner Bros. and many theaters are handling the situation extremely well such as adding security to screenings, removing the Gangster Squad trailers, and not allowing persons to wear any mask to screenings.

i dont think that will do much though, gift. he entered the theater normally, in no costume or mask. he then jammed the side (non-alarmed) door, went to his car to gear up, and then came back in where noone working there would see him enter the theater armed.
this was, sadly, an event that no measure of front-door security could have prevented.
