I occasionally come back to this hobby to look at pretty dolls, but I just can't seem to get too into it lately. I bought several dolls recently and I have yet to even take them out to take proper photos of them. Once I received the dolls, I lose total interest in them.
It's like, it seems like I enjoy the anticipation and waiting for a doll in the mail, more than actually having the doll itself.
Weird huh.

Hmm, I can sort of understand that. I will get all excited about getting something and once I get it my interest fades quickly and I look for the next thing to get. =/ Tis why most of the things in my room are in a sad state of neglect. Or at least in great need of dusting and de-cobwebbing.

I think I'm just in a rut because I just don't do anything doll-wise anymore. No more photostories, no more painting, not even fancy photography.
But I can't help but buy more and more of them.

Do you not do the photos and faceups and all anymore because you don't want to? Or is there some other reason? No time?
Maybe you should get back into crafting if you can. Definitely not good if you can't enjoy them after you buy them! Hopefully you'll get a chance to appreciate them sooner or later. Or you could re-sell them.

I have had this feeling, but for me it was just a phase. It was right after graduating from college. During my last year of college I was very stressed out and I think I bought and looked at dolls as a stress relief and a distraction. Right after I got my diploma, I lost all interest. For a moment I was scared, I thought it would stay that way and that I had some compulsive problem, but after a few months of rest and then starting my new job, I gained the same high interest in dolls again that I had before. Perhaps it's like that for you too..? How long has this been going on now?
I can relate to the anticipation bit by the way; it's why I am selling 3 dolls at the moment, because I got more picky and I'm only keeping the dolls I REALLY love, not the ones I loved waiting for but then lost interest in once I had them. At some point in my hobby I started looking for dolls I kinda liked and could get cheap and fast... NOT the way to go. Now that I have developed my taste and know what I want, I'm selling three dolls just to get a Minifee - because I know that's what I REALLY want.

I was out of it because I couldn't afford new resins and didn't have to space to sew... then I found monster high....

But if you do keep buying them, that's a bit worrying... You may want to overthink your new buys more.
Trust me though - I know what it's like. Been there, done that.

I really miss your photostories, they were always fun!! And you do the most beautiful faceups. I have two of your Haruka's now. You need to find a good story, then you will want to take the dolls out. Hugs!!
