I'm baaa-aaaack...sorta

I should be embarrassed to have taken this long to register on this website, but
a. I'm lazy
b. I forget
c. I've been extremely distracted with mundane/muggle life
d. I'm going nuts trying to assemble the requisite medical records in order to (FINALLY) put in an application for
disability retirement which I should have done 10 years ago if I'd had any sense, intelligence, or backbone;
furthermore, my deadline to file loometh.
e. I've been in & out of hospital again for various frailties, depending on who I want to punish, and for how long
f. As most of you know, I'm shameless anyway
No, seriously, I AM ashamed, and especially about those of you I owe stuff to (you know who you is - uh, are). My apologies as deep as I can go, and sincerely; and as soon as I have an hour or so to myself without being totally exhausted I WILL fulfill my belated promises to you, unless I'm carried off by Ebola, Dutch Elm disease, or terminal aggravation first.
Anyway, here I is. I can't promise I'll be cruising the site as frequently as I used to, but I WILL promise to try to make my rants and ruminations on nothing in particular as boring, pseudo-literate, and interminable as I formerly did.
Ollie & Bella are fine, more or less, although suffering horribly from New Outfit Deprivation syndrome (I haven't had time to do anything new for THEM, which gives you an idea of the rut I've been in); Abner the Bod is still pale and unpainted, while Maghwa the Minimee head is still brown since I haven't really tried to get the paint off. Gotta say, when I apply paint to be permanent, it's there to stay. Note to self: NEVER mix paint and fixative together again. Even sandpaper barely made a mark at the back of the skull, therefore Maghwa/Abner looks as bizarre as always, with his brown skinned head & lily-white, hulking body. Finally, Berke is his usual self: still with copper/bronze wig, wearing his copper poly flight jacket & matching pants, but he finally has a pair of decent shoes, so he's happy.
Well, at least he hasn't said he isn't, which is more than I can say for the Girls, who never stop whining about having nothing to wear, all their outfits being Old & Tatty - and besides everybody's already seen them, etc.
Once upon a time I thought I wanted another Supia or Limwha, but those two are more then enough for me. I can't keep up with their demands as it is. Now they want me to learn to make 1/3 size real solid wood (the good, expensive, specialty stuff like curly maple or Brazilian mahogany) upholstered in damasks, trimmed with fine fringe & tassels (they both have pretty tacky tastes in some respects) and cushions to match. What's more, they actually expect the legs and arms to be carved with all kinds of rococo curliques & acanthus leaves - AND be the same size-!!! Fat chance. I've learned corsetry, millinary, leatherworking, boot- & shoemaking, accessory making, and couture finishing plus an in-depth education in authentic historic fashion technical details. I draw the line at cutting off my fingers or sawing off a hand. My friends won't let me play with sharp cutting things because I tend to slice through whatever is around what I'm trying to cut - usually various tarsals, which in turn inhibits sewing, knitting, etc. due to the wads of bandages.
Besides, Abner still needs his pin-striped suit, dark shirt, and white tie a la The Godfather or The Sopranos. Poor Abner. First he needs a good thorough sueding & wiring though, so he will actually be able to stand & pose a bit instead of just flopping around from his own weight. Very embarrassing and awkward to instil fear and domination as a Capo di Tutti Bamboli Capi, even if you do have black & white pointy-toed shoes, weapons (& matching violin case), and a natty pinstripe Mafioso suit.
That's all for now. Gotta get a few other things done then skedaddle home. Will try to drop in again soon. Meanwhile, to all those who knew me when: Hi, y'all. Tell me how you're doing. TigerBabe, were you able to make it to the annual Muskox fleece-picking this year, or are you still working as tyrannical manager of that office? Cirquemom, I hope things are going better for you. It would be nice if you had medical assistance a little closer than 480 miles away, but I suppose it would ruin the ambience of the upper CA forest & private beach with your own seals & sea lions et al.
Love 'n hugs to all
