If you could have a trivial wish granted...

A wish giver is feeling generous and will grant you a freebie only it has to be something trivial like new sox or the answer to a question that's been nagging you but won't change the world. No money, love, power, or infinite wishes, just something minor. What would you like?
Right now I'd like to find a book I saw when I was a kid, so it couldn't be published later than 86-87, where there was a drawing of a woman with a butterfly on her face. It was like a mask and her eyes were on the wings. I think the butterfly could fly off of her face and spy on people. The book was one of those things kids would like, monsters or space aliens, and I have no idea what it was called but I'd love to find it.

I'd wish for a sewing machine that works all by itself.

Well, since 'answer to a question' is in there, finding my Spectra Dolls (not the MH chara with same name, these have jointed chrome plastic bodies) and little Michael would be a good one, I think. I last saw them packed up in the back room, but have had no luck finding which box they're in now.
A less likely wish that would take a real genie to grant? I'd want my childhood Cabbage Patch kids back. They had a great deal of sentimental value to me, and the Evil Overlord sold them at a yardsale while I was in middle school. I 'rebodied' the girl after finding a reasonable-but-slightly-older-looking match at a church rummage sale, but the little preemie boy I haven't been able to.

My totally trivial request would be the retrieval of a hardbook poem my dad (a master printer) printed out for me shortly after President Kennedy's death called Six White Horses: an Illustrated Poem About John-John. I know I could get a copy of it, but this particular one was very special to me since it was one of the few things about my dad that I have good memories about.
Another one might be the retrieval of a box of old family Christmas ornaments that apparently was left behind during a move. My earliest memories of Christmas include many of those ornaments, including the old fashioned, translucent plastic, light-up star for the tree topper.

I'd want to know what the ORIGINAL lines were to a poem that I have since rewritten... (I couldn't remember all of it after having composed it when I didn't have a notebook/pen handy... the rewritten version is definitely not the same/not as good, but I can't for the life of me remember what it said.)

One of my three late Barbies(mid-late 80s) had a peach color evening gown. Of all the Barbie things that was dumped, I wished I kept that gown. It was a simple straight piece but it was really pretty to me. Granted none of my 1/6 Obitsu girls, ladies and Amazons can carry off peach color or would even wear said color

I grew up with a plushy owl that had a yellow hard plastic face and large wings. He was yellow and orange. I just want to know what his name was and what line he was form. I could have sworn he was a Teddy Ruxbin (sp?) character, but I never came across him again. He was a pretty big plushy. If anyone could find a picture of this toy and tell me his name, I would be forever grateful!!

I don't recall any owls in Teddy Ruxpin. Though I kinda wish I had my old Teddy back :p
Your owl sounds a lot like this one (other then the colors):
It's a Wonder Whims. I don't know of any yellow/orange owls, but they do have an eagle in those colors (best picture I could find):
not sure how large they actually are.

Right now I wish I could shake this head cold. Went to Monster Con this weekend, and came home with two awesome steampunk hats, a necklace, a pretty ring, a fairy figurine, and a sinus infection courtesy of one of my friends. >__<
My other friend caught the exact same cold, so I KNOW it was the first one's fault. XD
I have to sleep so I can work tonight but I can't breathe properly and Dayquill sucks. Tempted to throw on some non-PJ clothes and trudge to the drugstore to pick up some Advil cold and sinus. Love that stuff. Knocks the shit right out of me, but it's so strong that they stopped selling it off the shelves. Now you have to stop that the pharmacy window to pick it up (and show ID and everything), but the pharmacy windows are always closed when I stop at Walmart or the grocery stores after work in the mornings. >__<
So that's another wish. I wish a pack or two would magically appear before me so I don't have to drag myself out to get it. lol

Peaches and Cream Barbie, perchance? She's fairly cheaply and easily gotten if that is her and the right dress.
