Set up to record - and looking for my 3D glasses... Gonna see it in the cinema (twice)!! Whee!!

(But it's got a lot to live up to after Night of the Doctor - it's already at a disadvantage since it's probably not got McGann in it ¬.¬ But I live in hope!)

Thanks, only 2 of my big ones are "official" Ten and Elebenty. I altered Eight and unseen Twelve from other figures and bought Four's head. Everyone else is just one of my gang.

As for the special... Well, um, well, nice surprise at the end. As a casual Whovian perhaps I just don't get some of it :/

Possible spoiler after the pic.

I love the glimpse of Twelve, imagine if we didn't know who he was and that was all we got.

Loved it! Moffat has always been kinder than RTD in his own way, RTD would have left us with "The Lonely God" forever... Capaldi!

...But ungrateful sod that I am I really really don't understand why it's John Hurt and not Paul McGann in the ep itself ¬.¬

And ahem no more Spoilers.

Because where John Hurt fit in with the scheme of things it makes sense to have someone not connected with them. John Hurt was a good choice this side of Nicholas Rowe. Just tell yourself Eight was too busy snogging companions. As I told the clerk at the store who had never seen the movie watch The Hanging Gale, it's basically Paul's audition for The Doctor and you can see where the clothes and hair come from. It's not for the kiddies though, all that potato-centric violence.

Paul in Night of The Doctor http://youtu.be/-U3jrS-uhuo **which can be watched before or after Day but explains some stuff.

Some day we'll have to get to the bottom of Paul's rolled around in the yard look.

*Please let me know as soon as others feel comfortable talking about the end of Night, seriously watch, and the end of Day and especially the Timey Wimey of what the end of Day hints at what it could mean. I don't want to spoil it because it really is a good piece of TV.

As a funny aside, my wife and I have a friend that's a major Doctor Who fan. She and her boyfriend put on a big Doctor Day party the other night, complete with a full scale call box/TARDIS that they'd built.

What she didn't know was that it was not only a Doctor Day party but a surprise engagement party... so he proposed, she accepted and the sappy romantic geekery was dialed to 11!
