Shaggy little wolf boy (new wig and tail)

My Hujoo Jake is a werewolf, and I've been meaning to make him a new wig and tail that match out of faux fur. Found some cheap craft fur at Michael's and decided to give it a shot. And then several months later finally got around to doing something about it. Took some progress pics while I was at it, though they're kind of crap because the lighting's not very good. I'm really pleased with the result though, I'd never made a wig before!

Mocked up the shape of it with muslin

When I transferred it to the faux fur it was slightly bigger than I'd expected, but that's better than it being small!

I took the seams in a bit and hemmed it and it fit a lot better.

I like that it pretty much covers his ears, so he's usually only got one set showing.

Then I made him a new tail out of the same fur to replace the one he's been using. I like this one a lot better because the fur and backing aren't as thick and heavy. It's poseable because it's wired with a folded up pipecleaner and held on by a rare earth magnet in the tail and a second inside his clothes.

He's adorable! And without the heavy bangs from his old wig I can really see his face again! :D

He looks Wolfy! And the tail is very lush, I love that you can pose it.

Thanks! I need to do up his ears to match the wig but I can't exactly seal them with MSC in the middle of the snowpocalypse.

Maybe by the time I can seal the insides I'll be able to find a matching, shorter fur to glue to the backs and make him his little wolf suit. It's gonna be so cute!

You could flock the outside instead of using short fur.

Flock the doll itself? It's an idea, but I think I'd prefer the suit because that way I can switch back and forth between that and normal clothes more easily. Besides: furry little footy pajamas? Too cute to pass up!

Sorry, I meant you could flock the back side of his ears. Instead of finding short fur to glue to them. The backing on the fabric would just add unnecessary bulk.

Tee Hee! I recognize those ears!! Allison Strom originally sculpted them, and my husband casts them! He looks great! Don't you love those little Hujoo? Jake has a great face, and you did a good job on the fur wig and tail.

Ooh, flock the ears, that's a rather good idea, actually. Though I'm not sure where I'd get anything for it...I'd prefer to find something like that in person to match color. I'll look into it, thanks!

Hee, yes! I love his little ears! He wouldn't be him without them, and for that matter my big DIM boy wouldn't be himself without his fox ears either. I need to repaint those. And possibly get him a second pair, one for red and one for winter white. I do love these ears! :D And yeah, Jake's got my favorite face out of the little Hujoos (just don't tell that to my Berry). Thanks!
