Masks *Image Heavy

I spent most of the day sculpting some masks out of neutral colored sculpy. Maybe like a half hour of sculpting, 15 minutes to bake, and then spend some time sanding and scraping. Plus painting time. I don't even know the extact time I just know this took a few hours.

But here's some photos that are basically start to finish. When they're completely dry I'll post pictures of the dolls wearing them:

The blue one is pretty much the best out of the 3. I will happily sculpt one for anyone here. Later I'll make a more official post in the right place for it. The only challenging part had been getting the eyeholes to be even, to be honest. I am willing to part with the blue one in case anyone falls in love with it. lol

Cool masks! I need to make one for my girl as the character wears it sometimes but too but I'm afraid it will ruin her lashes... :(

If you position and make the eyeholes large enough you should be able to make a mask that wont ruin her lashes. :)

Lashes are beautiful but BOY do they get in the way! lol

Those look great! I think I like the black and gold best too, but they are all nice and look wonderful on your dolls! Keep making the cool stuff!

*3* I'm glad these are being well received! I do need more pratice with the sculpy to make it all look right and not crack or break while I mold it to the face, it happened on the two black ones. Sanding and scraping with a sculpting knife helps a little, but I'd like to try and have it even the first time. Though I do need a dremmel to help move things along....

If anyone's gets really interested I'd like to use anyone who wants one as my tester's for quality control. But mostly these seem resilient. I dropped one on the floor twice and there wasn't any breakage, and after the 15min baking they still stayed a little flexible. :D

I'm curious if you plan on making these for bigger dolls lol
I've wanted to make some mardi-gras masks for my dolls ever since I saw the ones on DollZone, but I don't have a sculpy oven and I've been told one should not use the same oven one uses for food to bake polymer clays.

Wut.
Crap. Really? >_>

Dana's my only large scale dolls. I definitely will but she's the only head sculpt I have to go on.
