I also took a year of conversational Russian. My teacher was the head of Slavic studies at Stanford who came to teach at Santa Rosa JC one day a week. Sadly, just as things were starting to click after a year, the Russian program at the JC was cancelled.

You know there is a Russian BJD site, can't recall off hand what it is called.
