Hello!

I've barely started on this hobby, and I can tell I'm going to be hooked for life! I've got 1 27cm male obitsu; who is slowly being transformed into Dick Turpin from Horrible Histories with an elfy twist... (I know I'm sad ) And already 2 more are on their way (admittedly 2nd hand - due to budgetary restrictions of doom!)

I'm a poor student and my current ambitions beyond passing my dreaded final exams next year with more than a 2.2. are to save up enough to buy a SOOM (... I know... But I can dream right? Just a shame that most of the big guys have been discontinued now so I've no hope of ever getting one of them wistful sigh at Lazule and that idealian that looks remarkably like Benedict Cumberbatch..)

Dont' give up on having that Soom yet - they do tend to reissue dolls periodically, although if you are longing for one of those limited fantasy ones you'll have to get that second hand probably. But even then, secondary market is pretty good even for those dolls and I can tell you that I, personally, have found several dream dolls by just being patient

And we'll always be here to help to enable!

Considering your screen name I'm surprised you're not planning a member of the Ankh-Morpok city watch. At least I'm guessing by the name that you are at very least aware of the Discworld novels?

Thanks for the welcome! I'll wait until I've got a source of regular income before seriously thinking about that dream SOOM - but until then I can practise on my little Obitsus!

Heheh - I couldn't find a head at that scale that remotely matched the facial structure that I imagine for Sam Vimes that I could realistically afford to mod to death, and I don't think I can do the Discworld characters justice yet! I'll practise my skills at face-ups before I try for any character that I absolutely adore, my 1st doll is looking odd to say the least at the moment!

I'll post pictures of my obitsu as soon as I'm anywhere near happy with how he looks... At the moment he looks like a small child decided that eyeshadow was a good idea...
