Hello from the USA!

Postby littlesamuraigirl » Sun Oct 13, 2013 12:57 pm

(copied from my introduction thread on House of Resin)

Hi everyone! I'm an extremely new BJD owner who is still waiting for her first BJD to arrive. He is a Resinsoul/Bobobie Bao...so excited for him to get here! I'm littlesamuraigirl or Jordan, if you prefer. I live in the US and I have a large variety of interests, some of which are anime/manga, drawing, sewing/crafts, Irish Step Dancing and weaponry. I currently do not have a job, but I am an aspiring blacksmith/farrier/horse trainer. I live with my wonderful mom and her awesome boyfriend, my little sister/best friend Hanna, and our two female cats, Midnight and Lil Bit.

Anywho...I just wanted to find some friendly BJD forums to join so I could pick up a bit more about the hobby and make some friends. I was just really attracted to the hobby because of the beautiful dolls, the amazing photography and the fact that there is so much room for creativity and actually creating the personalities and characters for the dolls. As I said, I just recently got into BJDs, so I apologize for my newb-ness ^^

So yeah, not much else to tell! If I made a mistake with anything please let me know <3

Welcome! You will find this a very friendly place! Bao is a very nice doll, I think you will be pleased. Feel free to look around and see what's up, don't worry about being a newb, we all were once.

^ Thank you! :)

I'm not quite sure, really. I've always been fascinated with things like swords and knives - especially Japanese swords. I watched a TON of Japanese swordsmithing videos on YouTube, and thought about becoming just a swordsmith, but I realized I probably wouldn't make a lot of money by specializing like that...especially in the US. I also met a bunch of blacksmiths at a Scottish festival recently and they really encouraged me to pursue it ^^ So I probably will, once I find the right place to learn.

Thanks! He hasn't gotten here yet lol, can't wait though :D Should just be a couple weeks from now. I wish you luck in finding your first doll as well! <3

Lol no problem, I enjoy chatting ^^ I'm glad I came here! Everyone really seems friendly and I've only been here a few hours.

Hello, fellow American! Welcome to the board! And congrats on your new boy~ Smithing has always looked pretty fascinating to me, if a bit dangerous. Sounds like it'd be pretty challenging to boot~

^ Thank you so much, fellow American! ^^ Smithing looks to be a little dangerous, but if you learn how to be careful it's probably okay. One of the blacksmiths I met recently has pretty much been doing it all his life, and only has some scars on his hands and arms - nothing major. I guess it's inevitable if you're working with sharp objects and molten metal xD But it does look challenging and fun :)
