Ground In Gesso Dust On Vinyl

Postby WhiteDove01s » Sun Jun 16, 2013 9:08 pm

Ok, with one of my projects in progress, I've been eliminating the Daft Barbie Smile by filling in the mouth with gesso. I did this in several layers (and I may have a couple more to go), and in between some of them I sanded a bit to make sure the edges were all smooth.

Now here's the bad part... in the process of sanding (using a good ol offbrand dremel head) I've managed to rub some dust from the gesso into the corners of the mouth. Even after I get done and paint the lips, this would leave this odd bit of 'greying' at the corners of the mouth.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for removing this without removing the painted on gesso? Or am I going to be stuck with having to paint or blush over it and hope the skin tone matches?

If I am understanding this correctly, the dust is dry and not painted over? If so, try using a kneaded eraser to pick up the dust. Keep using new parts that are still sticky.

Yes, it's just dust that the dremel rubbed into the corners, and hasn't been painted over or sealed in any way. Thanks! I picked up a couple of those erasers a while back... now to find where I stuck em. XD
