Hehe - dragons are just the icon, not the theme of the con.

A heads-up for those not from the Atlanta area - it's freaking hot in downtown Atlanta during Dragon*Con! It's been pretty mild for August this past week but there's no telling what will happen by the time D*C gets here. Prepare for heat. Upper 90s, reflecting off glass windows, pavement, mortar and bodies kind of heat. Dragon*con is spread out over several hotels with as much as a 1/2 mile walk (maybe more) between. I don't want people to pass out (my daughter nearly did last year while wearing her Ciel ballgown), so please keep water handy, use hand fans (even guys were last year), keep your head covered outside and wear the lightest clothing you can manage. And unless you plan on just hanging around the main "theater" of hotels to see and be seen, please wear shoes you can walk in.
