Doll Shoes and Feet

Postby SymphonicEnkelli » Sun Feb 09, 2014 5:22 pm

I think this is the right forum for this question, but if not then I apologize!

I ordered my first BJD a week ago, so I'm doing the fun hunt for clothes and wigs and what not. Currently I am looking at shoes, but I am concerned about high heels. I know some companies sell high-heel feet for their dolls, but mine does not and my doll is coming with normal, flat feet. Does this mean I can only buy flat shoes? Or can I buy shoes with small heels? Also, when it comes to size, I much extra room can/should I have for the feet? My dolls foot is 7.2 cm.

Thanks in advanced!

It depends on the shoe. Some of the high heel shoes can be worn by dolls with flat feet, others can't. Another option is to look at companies with a close resin match to your doll, that sells high heeled feet in the appropriate size, and then purchase them from there. The fit of the joint may not be perfect, but that can be fixed with some slight modding in most cases.

you have to look at the curve of the foot bed in the shoe before they made heeled feet they sold heels for dolls where the foot just angled down now many have a curved foodbed. then there are platform shoes too and that will give you more girly shoe without the need for heeled feet as well and those have heels many of them but it is done on the shoe base and the inside is flat

Many shoe manufacturers will tell you the inside dimension of the shoe. My girls don't have high heel feet, and they manage in high heels just fine. My elfdoll wears Monique high heels. What doll is it?

She is a Doll Family A Shawna. And these are the boots I want to get her:

They are 7.5cm on the inside. Would they work?

At least with boots one wouldn't have to worry as much about resin matches.

you should not need heeled feet for those boots, my msd does not have heeled feet and i am ordering them for her in brown the angle is only slight and the foot bed does not appear to be curved like the high heeled shoes. the group order I am in goes in soon so whenever they arrive I will let you know. but I really don't see an issue with them for non-heeled feet.

Most companies, if the shoes they sell only fit heeled feet, they'll say so. Those boots look like they'll fit flat feet just fine. I have a similar pair and my flat-footed F60 girl can fit them without issue. Normally, the curve is a lot more pronounced if they're meant only for heeled feet.

Thanks everyone! That helped a lot!

And I wish I could do a group order, but I'm not a part of DOA. But if anyone on here wants to, I'd be up for it.
