Magical Angel Vs Doll in Mind Resin Color

Postby Ruva » Mon Feb 17, 2014 1:06 am

Hi!

Des anyone know if either the pink or white Magical Angel resin colors match Doll in Mind's resin color? I'm buying a Magical Angel body and I really want Doll in Mind's Bellosse head for her. I can't find any pics of both together. Searching for pics on the web is a bit confusing since in some Bellosse looks kind of pink, in others she's very pale. So which s it?!?

Hmnnnn, I'm going to take a stab at this since no one else has. I would be pretty careful cross ordering coloured resins. Some companies seem to make similar enough colours that a bit of blushing and no one is the wiser, but resin varies from batch to batch as well...if you want a "true match" I would try and find either a doll you want in white resin or buy the head and body from the same company unless you can get firsthand testimony from someone that yes indeedy the colours do match up. Now, I do not claim to know resin well at all, so you can discard my opinion if you'd like, and also keep in mind that amazing faceup artists can "tint" a face one way or another (though it won't be a true match, but I've seen faceup artists do incredible things) if you think the resin will match enough to make you happy. :)

Hey there. I don't have either brand to offer an educated reply, but I can say that if they're "close enough" after the face-up on the head, and the clothes on the doll, you probably won't notice any major difference. I have a lot of hybrids and some just outright don't match, but with face-ups and shirts I can't even tell. One is even a yellow-skin head on a pink-skin doll. ha... now that one you can tell a little bit, but... again with the collared shirt, it covers SO much. :D

<----Least we're trying to help? ;) The faceup artists can really throw a tint one way or another, so if they look semi-matched in pictures, a good faceup artist might be just what the doctor ordered. Like Trethowan pointed out, hybridizing dolls is obviously a popular hobby. If you do go for the pink resin, you'll have to offer us a photo or two! :D That sounds like a gorgeous doll. I did some eyeballing of the various pink offerings and I have to say they both seem like a pretty good match. The DIM pink seems a bit more on the "warm" side of pink while MA has a bit more of a "cool" undertone to it, at least from the pictures I can find, but they both seem pale and a faceup artists can quite easily tint the doll or body to your preferred hue. (I'd love to see someone body blush one of these bubble gum pink! :D ) I wish you the best of luck!! <3

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'm going to go ahead and order the two. Whether they match or not at least there will be a definite answer. The more information out there, the better for everyone. I could always just buy a body or head from the same company later. I'll definitely post some pics when I get the two parts. Fingers crossed!! (>_<)/

Woot!! so I got my Bellosse Head and Magical Angel body and they fit magnificently! \(>_<)/

The two match colors perfectly. The pictures do not lie. Even in real life there is no noticeable difference in color.

The only complaint is that the Magical Angel neck gets wider at the top and it looks just a tad odd. If I sanded it down though, the neck socket of the head would be too big for the neck.

Check. It. Out.
