Notice From Mint On Card

Notice From Mint On Card

Postby Kirahfaye » Wed May 16, 2012 12:50 pm

FYI. Got this via Facebook from Mint on Card -

A couple customers had emailed us asking about a site they found. In the interest of not helping an illegal operation, we won't be disclosing the site's URL here. But we would like everyone to know that this site had copied some of our site's content, and didn't manage to remove all the references to our site. As a result, they left one link pointing to our site.

We just want to make it clear that we are not affiliated with this operation. We also strongly encourage everyone in the doll community to only buy from legitimate sources. If doll companies who make beautiful ORIGINAL creations are starved to death, then what's left are just recasts and copies.

If anyone should find the site being talked about I'd prefer we not distribute the URL for an obviously illegal website.

Yeah, I'd rather no one go looking for it. I have no idea what site MoC is talking about and prefer it that way.

I looked briefly, but got bored. Though shouldn't it be listed as a site to avoid? O.o I generally only order from DDE, Mint, or JS, myself, and occasionally from Featherfall.

maybe not the URL but even the company name. it's hard to create awareness of a scammer wihout having to point the finger in their direction. it's like saying watch out for a pole, but not telling the driver where the pole is.

An important pointer is that when you want to buy from Mint on Card, make sure you're actually on mintoncardinc.com. The fake website copied pretty much the entire contents of MoC to another URL.
