My favorite thing is the people within the community, especially here at DS. Second to that it would be photostories! I love all the stories people write about their characters.
My favorite doll-related item is Ivan's necklace! I absolutely love it.
My favorite resource is harder to answer. I guess I'd just say the tips n' tricks section here. Combined the folks at DS can answer just about every question one could ask.

What's your favorite thing about the doll hobby?
Sharing it with people close by and all over the world. Sharing what I've learned. Showing off my art. Enjoying the benefit of others' experience and creativity.
What's your favorite doll-related item?
My sewing kit! I make magic with it.
What's your favorite doll web resource?
My own blog! I really have a lot of fun making things for people to enjoy and use. Posting in my blog gives me so much satisfaction and happiness.

It's a toss up between the Realpuki's campervan and a pad and pencil!

The varation: except of cource in dolls, but also what can you do with them. ^^

If not counting dolls themselves, I'd say Shalunia's armor.

The customization aspect. How in changng of wigs, eyes and clothes would change one character into a another. The constant learning in said aspect of the hobby. Someone might have done it before and may provide one way of doing things as an option

My favorite thing about the hobby is having friends all over the world who share the same passion.
My favorite doll related items are tiny props for Richi. Of those, my favorite is Richi's teddy bear, Riley.
