Faceup or No Faceup?

I like the RS/BBB face-ups too - as others have said they're very nice, simple and subtle, and quite natural looking, and easy to add to later if you want.
Remember, the reverse of stressed is desserts.
Growing older is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

I have the Mei, which is the elf-eared version of the Ya. She is gorgeous and I got her with the factory face-up. I love her, although I got her in light tan resin. It's a nice simple face-up that gives her personality, though I have taken off most of it. I didn't like the color they did on her lips (a little too dark brown for my taste. On the pale they use pink instead of brown), and the blush on her cheeks was too much for her character, so I'm going to redo that in a softer color (and add blushing to her pointy ears).

So an update on our BJD journey. . . (should I start a new post for this stuff? I dunno, I don't wanna muddy up the boards)

After spending a lot of time looking at wigs/clothes/eyes for Ya. . .
We've decided that a 1/4 MSD just isn't going to be big enough, and we have to step up to the next size.
Big ol' SD class. 1/3 the height of a person, 65cm tall.
Fairyland's Siean is an adorable elf (somewhat busty, but we can deal with that) who stole our hearts for that size class.

So Ya is out. Siean is in!
Storebought clothes and wigs (etsy included) just aren't going to cut it.
Handstitched clothes and wigs are going to be in!

Also! Definitely getting Siean without a faceup, we can't wait to try doing them on our own!

That's so exciting! I think you'll have a lot of fun. I get a great deal of satisfaction from doing my own work. Now, there are screw ups, but you can do over if you need to. My first doll, I redid her face 4 times. Fortunately, your doll will still love you, even if you need a redo or two.

I'd think your doll would love you more that you care enough to redo it instead of just calling it 'good enough' >.>
