This would be headache inducing.

My OCs are my plushies who have their own backstories that was created when I was a kid, the story itself evolved over the years and sort of stablised after they crossover as dolls. The story in itself is their past even though some of them get to look young.

My official media fandom characters get their backstories from fanfics or canon mythos depending on whether they are officially shipped or not. One of them inherited her entire personality from a fanfic that was created with the use of another action figure(she knows and makes fun of said fanfic and her own canon history).

there's the one where they know they are dolls and are physical representation of headspace characters and plushies. and spend their time sitting around watching anime. reading books and mangas and jotting down ideas for projects and stuff.

I know this board has a bio section for the dolls. I need to update mine now that a few more dolls pop up.

My 1/6 and 1/4 dolls are the main characters of my novel series. Cordie is a being unto herself and all the other tinies live here at her whim. I have a history of her physical evolution more than a backstory for her. Cordie is basically my cat as a nekomimi and pocket sized.

I guess I should share mine too, eh? I have stories for all of my dolls. I’ve not wrote all of them down. Often I don’t tell their whole story. It would be much too long and not always so interesting. I take the exciting bits and those are the ones I write.

Currently, I am writing one that introduces my Withdoll Juwel named Landon into the world of my other dolls. He’s an angel that essentially crash-lands in a lake across the road from Sebastian’s, my Resinsoul Wu’s, trailer home. It tells the story of how he got there and why through Sebastian’s eyes. Brody, my Dollzone Hid, and Patrick, my Resinsoul Mai, are also in the story so far. Patrick is Sebastian’s dad. Brody is a handy friend that sort of gives reason for Sebastian to discuss his own secrets outside of his interactions with Landon.
At Home: Lettice (RS Rong), Avery (PD Tara), Sebastian (RS Wu), Titiana (RS Li), Patrick (RS Mai), Vivica (DDoll Airi), Brody (DZ Hid), Fyodor (DDoll Hiro), Landon (WD HOE Juwel), Khoshekh (Oleum's Dolls)

I write little snippets of backstory from time to time. Nothing I intend to show anyone else - I have no illusions about my skills as a writer - but I tell myself it's good practice. (Maybe it isn't but at least it's fun.) :)

All of my resins have backstories. Mikah, Lorilei, Dierdre and Donovan (my SDs) all share the same storyline. Keheley and Noble (my MSDs) have their own storyline. I've been playing around with the idea of adding my YoSD, Skye, as Mikah and Lorilei's daughter since she doesn't work for the character I originally bought her for.

My Ellowyne is a fashion plate at this point and my two MH dolls are just a couple I really like from the series of dolls and may eventually find their way into my daughter's room with her collection.

Other than what you see in the photostories I post on here, I don't really share my dolls' stories online.

They all have history of some kind, although not all of it is actually written down anywhere.

I also have dolls who are characters that belong to the dollyverse only, have only basic personalities/defining traits and are not included in any of the ongoing storylines with the rest of my characters :?

And I have a bunch of dolls who are based on characters that were created by people other than myself. (Video game characters, etc.)
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

No doll comes home without already being a character in a story. I write stories for all the characters I have in doll form (the story comes before the doll). To date, I have....

Balancing Karma (200,000 words, complete, free-read): Moswen, Kijika
Enchanted Shadows (28,000 words, complete, free-read): Sarojin. Jaiseki, Vuchel, Vashin
Dreaming Of The Void (180,000 words, WIP, posted to pay site): Tyhlian, Dakvir
Blind Desire (65,000 words, complete, pro-pub Torquere Press): Ryzel, Quinlin
Blind Desire one-shots (various, free-reads): Haniel, Aischylos, Darius, Ferrous*
Sea Of Stars: (35,000 words, WIP, free-read): Jolen, Kysmirhea
The Dragon's Muse (22,000 words, complete, pro-pub Torquere Press): Misu, Gunari
Absolute Series (75,000 words, complete, free-read): Khale, Fei-Lau*, Sleet

*Note: These dolls are not in-house yet but I am expecting delivery of them around May of 2013 (curse you lengthy production times!).

Fortunately, not all my characters demand doll form because my list of stories (complete and WIP) is much, much longer than what's listed there. Some would be almost impossible to shell even if I wanted to.

Annnnd I did have one person say that they couldn't read Balancing Karma (and gave the story a 1 out of 5 star review despite admitting to not reading any of it) because I had a picture of Moswen and Kijika on the page where the master list is and they said the dolls were just creepy.

I've found there's the occasional story that comes up then decides it wants a doll. Sometimes it's too many characters at once and they have to smoosh in to one doll to handle a few of them.

Or there's the ones that lurk around not able to decide if they do or don't want to be a doll. I don't know if having a doll without a story is more aggravating.

I realized I write my dolls as their characters...And sometimes I write them as they are...Dolls. Kaname had a story written about him as a doll who came to life and he's also roleplayed as his human self. Same goes for the others.

Probably the only one who will forever remain a fictional doll is a character I created called Terrence. He's just a doll in his story...Dunno if I'd ever give him a body though.
