Same here. I hate the heat so much, I moved to Alaska. It's been good move. I don't think we got to 70 more than 2 or 3 times this summer.

Meantime, I am having to set aside my doll projects to make some 18" doll clothes to sell at the 3 craft fairs I am booked for in the next 2 months. I'm wondering if I should make some fancy doll jewelry to try and sell too.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

I'd say maybe make at least a couple of jewelry pieces. If more people want them, you can potentially get their contact information for commissions.

Take letter beads and elastic thread with you to make custom doll name and initial bracelets on the spot. As a mom of an Xavier doll he's never going to find anything with his name on it.

And when it comes to custom name things 'They didn't have your name' is always funny.

I've decided I'm going to save up the money to get the Kieran Valentine and Whisp gift set from San Diego ComiCon from about 10 years ago . . . I'm hoping I can get them for around $500 . . . Eventually. I think once the "OH MY GOD, VALENTINE IS GAY?!" hype wears off, people will stop overcharging as much for them.

That is a lot for a couple of Monsters, I'd only pay that for a BJD, and your ____ isn't based on having all of them.

Is there any way to customize other dolls in to them?

I'm working on completing my personal collection. Plus, I've been working myself to literal death the last couple months. They're part "complete my personal collection" and part "here's your reward for not committing actual murder the last couple months". It actually wouldn't be the most I've ever paid for non-BJDs, either . . . Plus, I've wanted this set basically since it came out. They've been a holy grail thing for me for a decade.

Sounds okay to me. I'm part of the no/responsible doll buying thread on another forum and we encourage each other to be mindful in our doll spending.

You definitely deserve that treat and here's to hoping you find it at a great price!

I've noticed the prices are already coming down a little bit, so here's hoping. I'm not behind on bills now, so as long as I keep saving, I think I can probably have them by Halloween, if all goes well.

Does anyone have a Barbie Dream Bestie doll? Are they good? I was super excited at first, then less excited, but now I'm excited again??? I might pick one up tomorrow. I've always had a disconnect with Barbie because of her proportions, but I'm thinking maybe this could be the Barbie line I dig the shape of? I'm a sucker for a round head!

Edit: I couldn't wait. I ran out to Walmart and bought Renee. Will try to post pics soon.

I am curious about the body type, it's the heads I don't care for. If they're smart the dolls can fit regular Barbie stuff.
