They raised the base prices half a year ago due to the exchange rate development of the past year(s), it's not just the EIDs but all sizes. *sigh* Also the EID bodies have been re-done so they're a bit (though nowhere near as much as I feared) more expensive than they were.

I seem to have missed the event completely. :( They're relaunching on April 1st with what they have left, we'll see how that goes ... honestly, they should just do an "event month" with only heads and bodies sold separately, stopping full doll sales for the event period, with enough notice beforehand so people can get their money together (or for those with enough funds, buy any dolls they don't want to get caught in the backlog), and they'll make a freakin' fortune.

When I looked a few days ago the base price on Luo was about $40 cheaper than it was tonight. So I'm guessing they just did it again? Plus they don't always seem to have a choice to buy the plain doll where you don't have to buy certain things because they are out of stock. You may be looking at that so called base price but even if you don't go for a company face up you're still looking at a fair bit more, plus a nice big shipping fee. By the time I was done trying to make my perfect Luo he would have cost me near $850 with shipping and that was sans a lot of add ons and before the price increase. I don't particularly like the idea of recasts but I am beginning to understand why they are done. You have to practically take out a mortgage or sell a kidney to buy an Iplehouse doll...

I totally hear you. I'm still having trouble believing there are companies even more expensive :? I hadn't seen the latest change yet, EID guys are too big for me so I don't follow them as closely ... $30 or 40 was about how much they added to the EID ladies after the redesign. The extra costs for "special" skin colours are why I went for normal skin, peach gold might look great but ... nah. $20 for mobility joints is justifiable because that actually adds something useful ^^° But extra $ how-much just for colour? No way.
Shipping with EMS is The Horror, right? It's not like other international shipping companies charge like 10% of EMS prices  Even my Elfdoll head cost like $35 in shipping, and that parcel was tiny. I can't for the life of me understand how they even stay in business.
